Painting with a Twist — Attraction in Austin

What a great experience! Highly recommend!!

For our 1 year dating anniversary, we decided to go to Painting with a Twist on Burnet Road to one of their date night classes. This was the first time that we had ever done something like this and thought it would be a nice anniversary activity. It turned out to be a GREAT dating activity!!!

On their site we saw these two turtles that we liked and I reached out a month prior to our anniversary to see if we could paint the turtles for an upcoming couples class that fell on our anniversary date. My girlfriend painted an orange turtle which I have hanging up in my apartment; and I painted a blue turtle which she has hanging up in her apartment. When we move in together; we will hang the turtles next to each other and it will always be a reminder of our first year together.

Not only did the folks at Painting with a Twist come back and say "yes, they could accommodate our request"; but when we arrived they had put us in the front of the class and had painted special plates for us that said Happy 1 year anniversary along with our names. We so enjoyed the entire experience and now have a keepsake hanging in our place that will forever remind us our our special one year anniversary.

I have been to PWAT five times. Every time we have gone, we have gone to the Burnet location. I have never been disappointed. However, this one evening stood out and they deserve extra kudos….We originally had a private party of 21, which quickly dropped to 16 at the very last minute, the night of the party. Stressed out about covering the cost of the additional 5 guests that RSVP’d, the two artists/instructors allowed our party to pay for the 16 people in attendance. They saved the entire mood of the special occasion, our sanity and our wallets. They didn’t have to do that, nor did we ask. Excellent customer service in such a fun environment is priceless. Needless to say we had a blast and the paintings are proudly displayed along with the others in our house. We already have plans to return, and highly recommend Painting with a Twist vs. other copycat places…Not just for the great customer service, but for the talent and patience of the artist...

I came here for the "Van Gogh's to Austin" painting session and had a blast. We didn't even buy a GroupOn / Living Social / Google Offer, which seems to be the de facto way people find their ways into art classes like this studio offers. My biggest complaint is definitely the lack of space in the class area given the wide expanse available at the front of the studio. With everyone cramped together it made moving around limited, which is problematic if you need to get closer to the instructor to see what they're doing. Being limited to only a single bathroom is troublesome, especially for the longer sessions.

Parking can be a bit tight because of the restaurants nearby that get really busy around dinner time, so plan accordingly. Also arriving 15 minutes ahead of time is probably overkill since the instructors seem to wait until everyone...
