DoubleDave's Pizzaworks — Restaurant in Austin

We usually visit this double daves several times over the summer on the days we go to main event, as I run a summer camp program , unfortunatly this time around were treated like thieves. Let me explain we normally eat the buffet when we go for its way cheaper than eating at main event. unfortunatly we arrived 5 minutes after two so they told us we could have what was left on the buffet however, they would not be putting more food out. I choose to order pizza instead because what was on the buffet was not fresh. I had a group of 10 kids with me at the time and they were unaware that the buffet was closed and I had ordered pizza instead and two of them took what was and equivalent of 4 slices of pizza off the buffet before I told them I order pizza. The manager approached me about the issue and I tried to explain to him that it was a mistake that they were unaware. He told me that he really didn't care and that I had to pay for an additional two buffets that they were not serving anylonger because the kids took pizza. He insisted I get up immediately and meet him at the counter to pay I said ok I will be right there and his response was that he was going to hold my order until the meals were paid for. Charging be two buffets and threatening to hold my food and treating us so disrespectivly over 4 slices of pizza is obsured. I would hope upper management would fire this person as he is obviously not manager material. I will not return to this...

Willingly paid 1 dollar for ranch with pizza (none was offered complimentary) which was fine. I then asked to grab it from the buffet ranch sitting out all day instead of much larger prepackaged sides partially to save them on their margin but also to have smaller sides to share with family separately.

Started grabbing 3 very small ranch cups from buffet where you can grab as much as you want normally btw. Then the bigger guy, seemingly a manager, freaked out and confronted me super awkwardly. After giving me a super hard time in front of his store, he told me every cent mattered even after I explained how technically each cup is less, and is saving him money versus much smaller margin on fresh, prepackaged versions (thats why they charge a full dollar plus tax for these btw). The whole thing was stupid and did not need to happen. Do I really need to point out the obvious here: taking better care of your CUSTOMERS is how you make more money, NOT nickel and diming and arguing over ranch cups to the point of shaming your customer out the door.

I had a very horrible disgusting experience to say that least, during my first trip to Double Dave's next to main event. My children and I have always ate at Double Dave's on metric in Austin and never have I had something so grotesque happen. Sunday night we walk in myself my fiancee and my three children expecting the same great encounter that we normally get but after ordering $35.00 in food we all go over to the fountain drinks and make our drinks, my daughter being the last to get a drink. After fixing our beverages our daughter goes to play a game located inside of the establishment. Upon her return she picks up her drink an attempts to drink out of it but as she went to do so I notice something black towards the bottom of her cup. At that time I stop her while drinking the drink only to discover a cock roach floating in her drink not to mention this ice/fountain machine was full of them. As we brought it to the managers attention, his response was they are just looking for a cool place but they had been aware of the problem and were currently in the process of extermination.
