Feng Cha Teahouse 奉茶 — Restaurant in Austin

First of all, the drinks were amazing! Really good, the owner is nice, the workers were nice. Until the colonizers decided to come, normally I don’t care who makes my drink, I just want my drink to taste good. So when I see the first yt person behind the counter it didn’t really bother me till I noticed the attitude she was giving me when I was next, very curt, very rude, but I stayed positive and this experience happened I would say last year in October-November. Then she disappeared the next time I came, whatever right? Wrong! After her other yt girls started working, the service turned horrible the drinks started tasting funny and one time my sisters taro tasted like cleaning products, she went back in and asked if she could just change it for a matcha and the yt girl was like “uhm we do don’t that? We can’t replace the drink” but beside the register there was a sign that clearly said “not satisfied come back and we will fix it” something like that. My sister was about to start arguing when an Asian worker was like “oh let me fix it, we can totally do that for you” Simple easy fix that’s all, she wasn’t gonna complain about the cleaning products, cause yea I guess sometimes when ur cleaning the smell can stick on to cups or drinks or whatever, fast forward! Now all I see! Are yt workers, I don’t see a single Asian worker or non Asian workers that’s not yt! So I’m slowly thinking “dang is this place being colonized” but I’m trying to stay positive like always Me and my friend when to pick up our drinks that we placed online and when the yt workers giggles and tells us “sorry we ran out of pearls do u want something else?” And I’m like yeah that’s fine give me grass jelly

So they make our drinks and when a yt customer comes in with “harem” pants which is just shalwar pants that they appropriated, he ask for a regular taro milk tea and the worker giggles and makes him a taro tea with PEARLS! And I’m confused like did she lie!? Did she only have enough left for one drink? So why didn’t she just make one of our drinks with pearls. It’s whatever I’m more then annoyed now and we leave and our drink taste horrible, my oolong is bitter like it got over brewed or something idk, my friends Thai tea doesn’t taste like thai but we leave it, cause I’m not ready to fight these 18 yr old yt girls and they cry and become the sensitive yt girls they are and make me a dark skinned south Asian look aggressive so I leave.

FAST FORWARD! we go back again and I don’t know why I keep going back, maybe in hopes that my experience gets somewhat better.

I got my usuals osmanthus oolong tea with cheese foam and the girl makes my drink, (yt as usual) and she starts SCRATCHIBF HER HAIR?!? She scratches her hair and starts making my drink and I’m shocked, I’m just lucky my drink gets handed off to someone else cause this same yt girl helps an elder Asian man who wants also plain oolong milk tea, and while he’s having trouble saying oolong, I can early understand what he’s saying this yt girl starts giggling and goes “udon? U want udon? Haha this is a boba shop” And the guys like “no I want oolong” and he’s started to look embarrassed and she keeps going “udon” and I was about to step in and say something before he just points at the menus and yells “OOLONG” and she gets quiet and gets embarrassed cause she’s getting yelled at, and she goes to her friend and starts complaining “if u can’t speak don’t come here” YT LADY! U are in an Asian safe space! Why r YOU WOrking here. I was about to say something when someone else had already said something and she apologized, after that I never went back again. The two stars is literally for the owner and the beginning experience I had, I understand they covid put everyone in a tight spot and no way am I blaming the owner, I’m blaming the yt girls who work here and ruined my safe space and almost...

I visit this place every week. Always order cheese milk foam jasmine green tea every signal time for a year.

Today I ordered the same thing but was given an apple green tea. That’s fine, people makes mistake. I politely told the lady named Vicky that’s not what I ordered, but she treated me so impatient and told me fengcha don’t have jasmine green tea at all! That cannot be true, I ordered it every time for a year!

she might not be trained well which I still can put up with at that time, so I tried to show her the menu and my order record. Guess what, she just ignored me, and insisted she was busy, has no time to even look at the menu I pulled out!😡 that was for sure a bitter excuse, I waited 5 mins until there was no one in the line, but she still ignored me🤬i didn’t want a refund, I want my routine order, just that simple.

Maybe my soft attitude made her think I am easy to deal with. She Ignored me just because she didn’t want to confess what she did and said wrong! I was so disappointed with this new server!

To be fair, I ordered tea from this place more than 100 times, satisfied with all previous servers and foods. But NOT this new lady😟 I guess I won’t visit the place again, don’t want to see this lady at all! So many tea house options here in...

The Service is spotty here. You either get amazing friendly service or you get the servers that don’t care that you are their patrons. Today, I encountered that. The person taking my order was extremely friendly. Very professional and even helped me scan for rewards. The person giving me the order didn’t acknowledge me over her headphones, didn’t even call my name out for the order, and when I asked for a drink carrier, you would’ve thought I asked for the biggest hassle ever. She looked at me like I was an alien. Horrible server. ———————————-

Chill place to get boba. I think the menu is too big and confusing. The good news is they have an app where you can order online and get points for free bobas. So, I did this instead because the app has more descriptions than the store. Pickup was ready in 5-10 minutes too!
