OK, so we were trying to stop into a noodle house I used to frequent when we discovered it was taken over by the Louisiana Crab Shack. Crab!?!?!! The key to my heart, everybody knows, you had me at crab.
New business, and they couldn't be any luckier than to have Manda. Y'all read all the time how unimpressed with the apathetic, lazy service that I get here in Austin. Their cool is so tacky and pathetic to me, and it is just what it is. THAT'S NOT MANDA! She knows her menu inside and out. She upsells, and you can tell, because she believes in it, there's a difference. She owns her taste & doesn't hesitate to offer the next course. Not pushy, truly just offering a great dining experience. She will build this experience just on her honest approach alone, while sharing a little bit of her and her family. Just the right amount of friendly, not intrusive. And she reminded me to hit up Google. We know I do this a lot, when's the last time my server reminded me to build the business she works in, regardless of the review? I'd hire her today if I was still in hospitality.
OK, food was fabulous. Ron didn't even finish his, he got full. Holy?!?!! Loved every bite. It was a bit on the salty side, then again, what Cajun isn't? Their dirty rice beats mine, and im a little jealous. Don't grab any extra sauces, you won't need them. Unless it's the bignets (sp), grab as many as they will offer.
We will be back. She waged a crawfish boil challenge. Even knows Deckhands, and says they will beat em. Our favorite. Challenge accepted...game on.
Ron says 5 stars, all the way around.
See ya again soon,...
Read moreI thoroughly enjoyed this dining experience. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted and able to choose our table. I chose water (which was filtered) and my friend ordered an Arnold Palmer with unsweetened iced tea. Both were refreshing and he enjoyed the blend of lemonade and tea. For the appetizer, we ordered the Firecracker shrimp, this was lightly fried shrimp with an Asian sauce on a bed of dirty rice. It was perfection. The shrimp were perfectly fried with a crispy finish while the shrimp were tender and not over cooked. The rice had the perfect amount of spice. My friend enjoyed it so much, he ended up ordering additional rice to come out with his meal. For my entree, I ordered the 1 pound crab legs with a half pound of shrimp (peeled and deveined for an up charge) with Bottom of the Bayou seasoning - this came with corn and potatoes. I added steamed vegetables, one hard boiled egg and sausage. I crushed it!!! I ended up dumping the steam vegetables into my seafood bag to soak up some of those spices, seasoning and butter - it was divine! I thoroughly enjoyed my entrée.
For dessert I ordered the beignets and we enjoyed them. They were topped with powder sugar and they also gave you the options of dipping sauces which my partner enjoyed Carmel and strawberry. Me myself, I’m a beignet purist.
Mike and Terry were our servers and they were amazing and extremely attentive. Lastly the ambience was wonderful. Great 70’s and 80’s R&B.
I highly recommend you try Louisiana crab shack you will not be...
