Discovering hidden gems is something we really enjoy. So glad we tried this place. When we arrived, we noticed that this cute lil restaurant with a pleasant and clean ambiance was practically empty but from the reviews I have been wanting to try it for a while.
The menu is based around chicken - hence the name. They have both battered and non battered wings and they also serve whole chicken as well. For the starters, seems more akin to bar food - lots of fried choices but hey - this is Texas and we love our fried foods.
We asked to sample a few of their sauces before ordering and they were happy to oblige. We tried:
Sweet Orange: just as the name implies - sweet with orange, very well balanced. The husband was practically licking this out of the dish
Jalapeno Mayo: Just as the name reads, its basically a spicy mayonnaise, simple and a bit spicy but not spicy.
Peach Habanero: a bit to spicy for us, but the flavors were spot on
He ordered
Garlic Parmesan Fries: These are about the best fries we have ever had. When I say cooked to perfection - this is no lie - they are amazing! Definitely recommended. They also filled up a plate - I would say this is a shareable side.
Jumbo Battered Wings: These are lightly battered and rather large. They were cooked well. It is noticeable that they change their oil often which is a good thing. He ordered his sauce on the side as they give you that option. He enjoyed the wings with and without the sauce.
I ordered
Jumbo Naked Wings: I opted for the Honey Garlic Parmesan rub and was not disappointed. The flavors blended well and the chicken cooked well. I would order this again for sure.
Pickled Radish: WOW! What a treat. They counteract the heaviness of the delicious fried food. I couldn't get enough of these tasty little morsels.
Customer service was really good. We walked out full and happy. We are still surprised about the lack of customers that we saw which I had also read previous reviews in regards to plenty of seating - which there is. Maybe it the location because the food and customer service is amazingly good.
Get the word out yall so they dont wind up closing down. Austin needs a place like this. Try it - you will not...

Fried Mushrooms ($5.99): Battered cremini mushrooms with almost no flavor. We had to dunk them in the honey-mustard just to give them some taste, so feel free to skip this one. We also tried the marinara out of curiosity; the pairing was interesting but didn’t help much.
Sweet Garlic Bread ($3.99): Two slices of garlic bread drizzled with honey—delicious! Honey makes everything better, though I wish the garlic flavor was more prominent; the flavor was too subtle for something labeled “garlic bread.”
10 Battered Wings ($20.99): You can pick two sauces, so we chose Peach Habanero and Sweet Soy. Peach Habanero: Tasty, but the peach and heat were more subdued than I’d like. Oddly, the side sauce we tried on a previous visit packed more of a punch. Sweet Soy: A reliable favorite whenever we test a new Korean fried-chicken spot—savory, balanced, and the one everyone kept reaching for.
Garlic Lover's Chicken Half ($21.99): Fried chicken topped with a generous amount of fresh garlic and honey, served with one side—we chose pickled radish. The garlic honey glaze was an umami bomb! I could only eat one piece because of how intense it was. The chicken was huge, perfectly battered, and crispy. My husband loved this dish. We saved the extra garlic-honey sauce; it’s fantastic over rice or stir-fried into another dish.
Battered Wings (5 pcs - $13.49): These thin-battered wings were crispy on the outside and juicy inside. We got them tossed in sweet soy, which was absolutely delicious. The wings were a great size and stayed crunchy. I personally preferred these over the Garlic Lover's Chicken. For dipping sauce, we chose honey mustard, which was just okay. We also tried an extra 2 oz of Peach Habanero sauce ($2.50), which was fire—sweet with a nice spicy kick. Definitely worth trying...
Read moreTERRIBLE SERVICE. Walked in 45-min to an hour earlier than closing time and the lady was SO rude she did not want to seat us. She said that we should order to go since she didn’t want us to be rushed eating and that the kitchen was closed at 8:45 pm when the place closes at 9:30 pm! She made faces and practically pushed us put of the restaurant since we did not want to order to go. Nowhere does it say that dining hours end at 8:45 pm, we were only getting two baskets of wings. A party of two, literally never experienced anything like this before. We left and did not even order, then looked at the comments below and see this is the norm there, SMH!
In response to your message: 5/17/22 roughly 8:45 p.m. for a dine in, please check the cameras thoroughly. The lady at the front pressured us into dining out and taking orders to go. Therefore, we decided not to order. There is no sign on the door or posted in the restaurant that the kitchen is closed at a specific time. This is highly recommended, since those dining in are most likely not going to only order online, they are going to walk in and then get seated and THEN go online. Also, if you see an earlier comment, this is not the first time this has happened. Thanks for the response. Also, last time I came in the last time huffed and puffed looked at the time and rolled her eyes then sat us. Last time I did not say anything, this time was different. Never had this bad of a customer service anywhere I have been in New York, Miami, and...
