G Bar and Bistro — Restaurant in Austin

As some of the other reviews have mentioned, food and hotel wise, it's alright, but the service quality is not up to standard. This Holliday Inn and the Candlewood Suites across the parking lot belong to the same franchise and they share certain amenities. I came here for two meals, a dinner and a breakfast. The waitress was not very patient and polite (although kept her basic professionalism) during the dinner; they also seemed to be short staffed during breakfast hours, the receptionist said they were open but it took them sometime for the waitress to actually show up to take the order, and during the whole breakfast she was busy with taking other orders and was barely attentive to water refills and other requests like napkins...

Had a nice and attentive waitress and was able to sit off away from the few people that congregated the bar, food was a tad pricey too, tasted decent....BUT the Big Gripe I have, is that their Menu does not display the drink pricing...and I was quite shocked to learn my can of Cider (5-6$ at just about all other bars in the area) cost NINE whole dollars. A draft pint of Blue Moon, $8....AND on top of that, they have the audacity and presumptiveness to pre-charge 18% Gratutity for the tab you run up on this overpriced mess. Sneaky Sneaky and shame on you.

Stay Away folks, and let the unfortunate souls who happen to book a room at the adjoining Holiday Inn Express deal with this trifle of...

Waited 20 minutes for a server, and we finally had to walk up to the bar to ask for menus. Waitress continued to forget about us and return with requested items. She was no better at the register. We asked to split the check 50/50, which was way more than she could handle. I'm not sure if it was the system or what, but even after we told her what each ticket should be, she charged us incorrectly. The customer before us seemed to be having the same dilemma. All that aside, the Michelada I ordered was delicious as was the fish and chips and Philly Fries. I'll likely revisit when I return t9 the area for work, but I'll be sure to sit in...
