Burger King — Restaurant in Austin

Burger King is a vastly underrated fast food joint. This location, conveniently, is right by a Shell gas station and corner store at Ben White and Montopolis. A large store that seems the larger for never being crowded, the staff here are friendly, polite, tolerant, and diligent. Electrical outlets are available at some booths to charge your devices, and they do have WiFi - it's both free and unsecured. While the lack of digital security is a bit nagging it really doesn't matter because the signal is terrible and it's hard to stay logged in. The bathrooms are open to anyone, which is IMPORTANT (try using the toilet while homeless downtown) but also private, single-occupant rooms which while leisurely can cause conflict if there's a line. In addition to allowing the public to use the restrooms, the staff actively avoids anything that rings of classism or elitist attitudes. Nearby construction and the large industrial building next door at Praxair can make for annoying background cacaphony, but the radio is generally on at a good volume. And of course, the flame grilled burgers far exceed the "McDonaldian" standard norm. Great place, as fast food...

I'm from out of town and we have been doing some construction nearby. We stopped for food here twice and both times they say the bathroom is out of service. I asked where the employees go, and they say they have to use the gas station's restroom.

This sounds like: A) Bullshit Or, B) Some kind of labor code violation.

I've never heard of an employer allowing their bathroom to go broken for longer than a day. If the employees have to go somewhere else to use the restroom, that's really sad.

On the other hand, they could just be lying. There is no sign on the bathroom door saying it is broken. The door is simply locked and they refuse to allow anyone to use it - PAYING customers like myself included. I understand not opening it for random people but this is ridiculous. Sounds like they just don't want to clean the bathroom.

Additionally, my friend says he had been going to this location for over two months now, and the bathroom has ALWAYS been broken. There is no way that's possible unless this location's owner is a total jerk.

I'm not sure what the actual situation is, A or B... but either way, I will happily fix my review once I see this...

I don't visit a lot of fast food places but being on a budget Burger King offers a pretty decent deal. This particular Burger King each time I have visited no matter who has assisted me even the repeat employees from management on down they have been extremely professional and polite! Being new to Austin this says A LOT because I have had some horrible experiences & I've only been here 1 month. I highly recommend this particular location if you are in the area it shows they not only care about their job but the reputation they leave with their customers. Food is always hot and as expected with great personable skills. They either have high expectations even for fast food or they genuinely believe in great customer service.
