Upon entering this location we immediately became concerned. There was no one there, no customers and a hostess did not show for a full 4 minutes! Not only this but there was a ranky foul odor that hit you as you opened the door and just clung to the air..it was gross.
But we were hungry and I had a birthday coupon for a free pancake deal.
Finally the hostess came, and I was kind of shocked when she looked at our 5 month old baby in a carrier and seriously asked if he needed a menu -_-
We were seated and the hostess who is now our waitress brought us water and then menus.
I ordered the Bacon Temptation Omelette and the freebie Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity® Pancakes for my daughter and I to share. My husband ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Stacker.
Finally after a very VERY long wait our food arrived - and I did mention that there was literally no one else there so not sure why it took so long....
And to add to it, trying to get a water refill was impossible!
Here is the breakdown on these items:
Bacon Temptation Omelette Where is the bacon?? Ok so this is advertised with the word Bacon in the name..but there was not much in it at all, maybe 1 or 2 small pieces crumbled down. The cheese tasted worse than the old government issued cheese from back in the day, it was gross. The so called sauce they put in it I think was generic HEB mayonnaise. I remember going here a decade ago and ordering an omelette and being wowed with the quality and quantity - it was low quality and the quantity was half of what it use to be.
Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity® Pancakes We got the strawberry one.... the strawberries were ok, the portion ok but the pancakes were disgusting, like the oil or butter was forgotten - not sure but um.. the name of the place is International House of PANCAKES and the pancakes were disgusting, dry and not really edible! They looked pretty but that is it....
Philly Cheese Steak Stacker Not sure where the stacker in this is except that it was obviously made with Steak - Umms.. that frozen Philly so called meat stuff sold frozen in grocery stores! The cheese again was gross, like a generic slice of American cheese tossed on and it came with some burnt pieces of onion - THATS IT! The worst Philly cheese steak in history! Even the bread was stale! And you would think the fries would be ok at least - Nope not at all, tasted stale!
So to sum it up:
Bad service Bad food Smelly restaurant
We will never return...
Read moreHorrible Customer Service. I came in to order a salad to go on my lunch break because my husband has been raving about their salads for the last week. When my receipt came I noticed that there was an additional charge on the receipt of $1.50. I asked the waitress what the charge was for and she said for the to go box and bag. So I asked her If I dined in and asked for a to go box would I be charged the same charge and she said no. So I told her okay I will go ahead and dine in since I had a little time on my hands. She walked off with an attitude and goes to inform the Manager on duty I guess to correct the ticket. After correcting the ticket and paying for the salad the waitress moves on to other tasks leaving me standing there. When she walked back by I asked her if I should sit down and she says, "yea" and keeps walking. I took that as an I don't care if you sit or stand. I brush it off and go sit in the first booth. Nobody, not one person asked me if I would like a drink of water nothing. When my salad came she set it down and walked off. She didn't ask me what kind of dressing I would like nor did she ask If I would like something to wash it down with. I waited for her to walk by to ask for a to go box. Keep in mind I have already paid for the salad. So I asked the waitress in the next row and she brought both items out to me. I guess that was my way of being punished for not wanting to pay the $1.50 charge. Clearly they take it very serious. However, she has ruined the IHOP experience. My Husband dines there often and loves it and now I would never want to step foot in that place; with such rude waitresses and poor customer service. The salad is not that good at all. The salad was supposed to come with cheeses and the menu describes, instead I got no cheese and red onions. But I am not surprised, the waitress made...
Read moreI love IHOP but this one isn't worthy of its name. I walked into the IHOP with my family. As usual we waited to be seated about 3 or so minutes. At first the waitress (her name was Abi) was friendly. She got our drinks and everything was fine. Then she took our order. She attended my parents in Spanish which was helpful and better for them. My family and I waited... and waited and waited and waited. We waited there for almost a hour! Next thing we know the waitress is at our table apologizing because 'the kitchen' lost the ticket with our order on it. They notice they weren't making our food after 45 minutes!!! The responsibility of our order and of the ticket that holds our order is the responsibility of the waitress and she tried to pin the fault on the kitchen even thought she had all the fault. She would enter the kitchen and start talking and not doing her job! She didn't come to check up on us once in that hour that I was waiting there. I even had to ask another worker, I think he was a runner, for more sugar. This isn't the first time 'the kitchen' loses my order. This IHOP is terrible, McDonald's has better service. I told the waiter to forget the order and to give us the check so I could pay for my drinks and demand to see the manager. The manager hide and didn't come out to see us so I just paid and waited for the receipt. I waited 10 minutes for it then realize the receipt was never coming after I saw the waitress that was suppose to take care of us deep in conversation with another employee. My advice is that there are plenty of other IHOP's in the greater Austin area, go to one of those cause this on...
