Hello fellow fans of Jimmy John's. While my review has nothing to do with the sandwiches and food in general (even though I love the Turkey Tom), and have probably ordered more than should be mentioned :) in 2021 already, I wanted to take the time to write a short note on two fine gentlemen that work there. During the unfortunate and devastating winter storm that has plowed though TX (Austin in my case), I had the pleasure of meeting them while in line at our local grocery store to purchase essentials as we made it through no power and in some cases without water. While waiting in line for about 2 1/2 hours, with frigid temperatures and icy covered parking lots and roads, we struck up conversations on multiple topics to make the time go by faster. We spoke about everything from Pittsburgh and Blues Brothers, to the movie Grosse Point Blank. Now to the main reason for this note. While waiting in line, we noticed an elderly woman with a walker trying to cross the icy, slippery parking lot to get in line (which btw was already an approx. 3-4 hr. wait if lucky enough to make it in by the time the grocery store closed). Without hesitation I overheard one of them tell the other, that they should help her out and in that instance one of them went over to assist her cross, while holding her arms and walker at the same time. In the meantime, his coworker and I decided to let her cut in front of us, so that she wouldn't wait long in the freezing weather. I then turned around and asked a few people that if it was ok I would like the lady to take my spot and they were more than happy to oblige. Eventually, there was another gentleman that took notice of what was going on, and the wonderful lady was able to make it to the front of the line with minimal wait. I notice on many occasions, that it's very easy for some people to write negative reviews and vent unnecessarily. I think it's important for us to also recognize the good people out there as well. Jimmy John's, congrats for having two employees that are truly fine individuals. I'm sure they're making you proud. Jeff and Badger it was a pleasure...
Read moreNot sure what the deal is... usually Jimmy John's is a cheery place with attentive staff (almost too attentive, if there is such a thing!) who practically have your sandwich ready by the time you finish your order. My experience today at this location was unusually disappointing: the guy at the cash register gave me a half-hearted "hi" as I walked in, and quietly took my order (#1 with chips and a drink). He didn't hand me a cup for my drink, so I had to reach over the counter to grab one from the stack as he looked on, giving no apology or offer to help; I walked over to the drink station and had to wait while an employee filled three cups of soda for her (and her coworkers'?) personal lunch, and was then kindly handed my sandwich by another employee who told me to have a nice day. Later, when I sat down to eat back at my office, I found a hair (not my own) in the sandwich wrapper, and the veggies on the sandwich were tiny and sad. The sandwich tasted good and had plenty of meat/cheese/condiments otherwise, though. Overall not a terrifying experience, but not the usual splendor I have come to expect from JJs. Perhaps I will try a different location...
Read moreComplete mix up with the online order that can be excused. However, upon calling the store, there is no excuse for the managers behavior and haughty attitude. To continually have to remind me that you are the manager left alot to be desired. I didnt even ask to speak to a manager. I was merely trying to order another sandwich. I asked for the previous guys name that answered the phone so that I could commend him on his professionalism and the manager stated he did not have to give it to me and he would take full responsiblity. Not for the compliment you wont. By the time we were done and he abruptly hung up on me, I was not looking forward to eating the sandwich. When the order arrived, I ate the chips, didnt touch the sandwich or drink and also had the cookie they so kindly gave me fo my troubles🤣 He was completely on the defense and continually reminded me of how busy they were, rush hour traffic, and it's all out of his hands. Upon arriving, the driver apologized, said he slipped a cookie and $5 coupon in the bag. Didnt see the coupon which was ok since I will not ...
