I came here with my family for my birthday. It was our tradition to go to the old Restaurant (Fujiyama) for birthdays, so we decided to try the new place. That was a mistake.
Interactions with the servers feel extremely “fake,” though the service itself is quality. Cleanliness, timing, drinks, etc. were at least done properly.
Our chef was beyond disappointing. The shrimp was overcooked to the point it was inedible, the veggies were undercooked and hard with little sauce, the filet mignon was drowned in sweet sauce. The rice was good, but that’s about it. Everything else was off. I can forgive the lack of experience in the “show” department, but ruining the food is just unacceptable.
The atmosphere is what really gets to me. This place has no idea what it wants to be, and ends up trying to do far too much. It’s going for modern Japanese, party-esk, and classy all at the same time, coming off as entirely tacky. When the chefs come out they blast dance-pop music, flashing lights and all. Otherwise there is no music. The only other sound at all is talking, grills, and other tables occasionally singing happy birthday. It’s just… off putting. Extremely off putting.
If you want to be fun, be fun, but the atmosphere is caught in at bizarre liminal point between fun and serene, ruining the...
Read moreOne of the overpriced restaurants I have ever been to! The food portion is just nothing compared to the rates they charge and the presentation is awful as well. I went there for sushi but no where they mentioned that they DON'T SERVE SUSHI ON THE WEEKEND! ' We were already seated and were served water and felt bad to leave. Hence thought of trying their Hibachi menu. Each hibachi menu had a soup or salad choice and shrimp appetizer. Even the food trucks will organize your plate in a better way than this restaurant. Felt like the plating was done in haste and my Hibachi noodle(chicken Yakisoba for $18) was too salty and the Hibachi Calamari ($22) my husband ordered was comparatively lacking spice. The soup was simply warm water with some spring onions while the salad was some leaves with too much dressing. The shrimp appetizer came in a mini glass bowl with two lightly fried shrimp ** no sauce no spice..Also you get No access to any printed Menu. I wonder how is this restaurant running. I am still in a state of trauma visiting this place today! I didn't want to tip either but felt bad for the server.

Read moreMost hibachi-style restaurants charge ~$14-16 for miso soup, salad, fried rice, veggies and meat (cheaper meats at least). Here it cost $17 for soup, noodles and maybe one small chicken breast. If you want the fried rice and veggies instead, you’ll be paying $26. And you still have to choose between soup and salad. And after paying all of that you’re still receiving the absolute minimum portion size. The show itself was standard, no complaints. When I saw the prices I was looking to order sushi instead, but apparently the minimum hibachi show must have two orders or else you’ll get charged the hibachi price for one person with no show at all. I was willing to go without the show until I asked if they were still going to charge $26 for the plate. $26 for veggies, fried rice, a chicken breast and miso soup? Maybe at a luxury restaurant. Not here, sorry. Not sure what the point of that is. Guess you literally can’t eat here alone and get a fair price. The food was fine, the prices just aren’t good at all. Go somewhere else for your hibachi night out. This place...
