My wife and I ordered appetizers of pork eggrolls with the house citrus sauce, and friend wantons with sweet chili and garlic soy sauce. The eggrolls were pretty danged good! They were big, and the flavor was savory and yummy. The house citrus sauce was definitely solid - it was very light, and not too sweet! The fried wontons were good, too. They were large and very tasty. I preferred the garlic soy sauce over the sweet chili because it was a little spicier, but both sauces were delicious.
My main course was the Yangyeum FIRE K-Wings, and they lived up to the name! Really awesome spice, not overwhelming at all. Just enough heat to get your attention. The wings were surprisingly big, too. There were 8 of them, and I was pleasantly full after the appetizers and the wings.
My wife had the bulgogi bowl, and she said it was really good. It smelled amazing, but I was so engrossed in my wings I didn't steal a bite except for the kimchi (which was really great)! It was a large serving, and she commented that she was nice and full after dinner.
I didn't know what to expect, since it's a little strip mall restaurant, but the presentation was beautiful on everything. Every dish we had was delicious, the portions were big, and the folks who helped us and brought our food out were really friendly, solicitous, and helpful. Everything about this place is awesome!
I will ABSOLUTELY be back! I can't wait to try the other wing flavors, and literally everything else on the menu looks absolutely mouth-watering. The prices were very reasonable, which is...
Read moreWalked in and was immediately greeted with welcoming smiles and a surprise taste testing of their drinks. Pretty fantastic tasting if I say so myself! The Brown Sugar Lemonade was definitely the star out of their homemade drinks and I would highly recommend it if you’re looking to pair that sweet tasting drink with your dish.
The menu has mostly classic Korean comfort food options. Nothing too out of the ordinary if you’re familiar with Korean food. Me and my girlfriend ordered their Kimchi Fried Rice topped with an egg and Jajangmyeon. The owner stepped in and volunteered to make us a special kind of Jajangmyeon, free of charge. Honestly, you can already tell he has a great heart and you just know whatever he’s about to make is going to be some dang good food.
As expected, food was delicious as it looked! Really nice portion sizing as well. The pricing is pretty standard like most Austin family owned restaurants but I think aside from that, the friendly atmosphere is already something to consider to keep you coming back for more! If you’re looking for a weekly routine Korean spot to eat at for comfort dining,...
Read moreFood: we ordered the kwings in yangyeum, kimchi fried rice with bulgogi, and the Jjajangmyeon. Wings were super crispy, pretty large, and the sauce was fire. 8 for $11 is such a good deal! The kimchi fried rice was delicious and it’s also something I get at most Korean bars/restaurants and this one is on par, except I felt like there could have been a bit extra bulgogi. The Jjajangmyeon, I saw on a show on Netflix and really just wanted to try. I feellll like it’s an acquired taste. Portions and price plus flavor were all pretty good. I’d def come back for the wings and kimchi fried rice.
Atmosphere: it’s a little sterile inside but it’s a fast Korean establishment in a shopping mall on burnet. It’s clean and modern.
Service: the people we interacted with were alllll soooo nice! They took the time to explain the menu items, came to check on us a few times, and were generally just so nice and accommodating.
Location: in the same plaza as Trudy’s and pluckers. There’s...
