Kung Fu Tea — Restaurant in Austin

I really really wanted to give this place more stars. The tea is pretty solid from what we tried. Not the best tea out there, but still pretty good and enjoyable. It’s meant to be kind of like a starbucks but for tea, and that concept I think is really cool. I also like their vast selections of tea. For these reasons, I really wanted to give more stars in my review. However, they segregate the people that don’t have masks into ordering in a corner. They were serving everyone with masks first, and made everyone that didn’t have masks wait longer. At first I said hey, it may not be intentional maybe they’re just disorganized. But after 15 minutes and everyone else having got theirs, I still didn’t get mine. Everyone else was almost done until I finally asked them where my tea was, to which they said it should have been made already which it obviously wasn’t and that they were going to re-enter the order for me. After a total of 20 minutes I finally got mine and basically had to chug a hot tea because my group was ready to leave. Lots of potential, disappointed —-update after their response: I no longer have my order number...

My husband and I have visited this place many times since it’s close to our home. While their boba pearls are consistently good, the drinks themselves have been disappointing.

On Friday, April 18 around 7 PM, we ordered two taro drinks, but unfortunately, they were undrinkable and we ended up throwing them away. Hoping it was just an off day, we returned on Sunday, April 20 and ordered a passion tea and a Thai tea. The passion tea was okay, but the Thai tea was very poor quality — I would rate it a 2/10.

I mentioned to the cashier that our taro drinks on Friday tasted bad and suggested that the taro mix might have gone bad. Unfortunately, he ignored my comment, continued with the transaction, and did not apologize or acknowledge the feedback. It felt like he didn’t want to be there and didn’t care about customer service.

After giving this place several chances because of its convenience and good boba pearls, I’ve decided not to return. I truly hope they improve both their drinks and their customer service...

AMAZING SERVICE & QUALITY! If you don't know your preference level in how sweet you would like your drink, no worries! They have a sample for you to test your palate in the level of sweetness you would prefer. They also allow you to sample their amazing bubbles soaked in honey. I came in not knowing my level of sweetness and chose wrong. I was told by the cashier to let them know if I thought it was too sweet or not enough sweetener. I thought by doing this I was only giving a review to help them give better advice to future customers but no. The cashier insisted on making me another drink. Hands down the best customer service I've had at a tea shop. My drink was made within 5 minutes both times even though there was a long line of people. I usually don't give reviews but this place was outstanding to where I had to give them credit where it was deserved! GREAT PLACE with...
