March '22 update: conditions may have improved and while I'm not visiting often, a fourth star seems warranted! Yay. However, no one ever responded to my early 2019 email per instructions in the owner reply to this review. 🤷♀️
It's close to where I live and it's okay/ can be fun! I get some beer or a drink here sometimes. I really appreciate the outdoor standing & seating. It's more expensive than at nearby Billy's. Sometimes I watch some college football or basketball but I personally usually don't go based on inspiration about a game that might be on. [Aug. '21 observation: However, they seem to randomly close when they're supposed to be open until midnight or on a specific day that they choose when they're slow or I daresay irresponsible about their business. The screens & the lights are still on, they're supposed to be open until midnight and they're not. So that's annoying. It's not even 11:30 pm.]
This has improved but it can be hit or miss with the bar staff. Some of them seem to have a problem before you even order your drink. Well, I didn't come here for a surly attitude. I have a child at home and I'd like to get a beer, is that allowed? But some of them are really nice and efficient. The inconsistency has left me unimpressed...
Read moreI'm writing this review while drinking a michelada at HOME. For the past couple of weeks, on my way back from work, I drive past the billboard outside of Little Woodrow's every evening. It reads: "Crawfish Sundays 2 pm." Finally this Sunday (5/4/25) I'm thinking I'll go over there and give it a shot. I get there around 2:30 and stand by the tent with the boiler, seasoning, and bagged crawfish for a good two-minutes. No one approaches me to take my order. I then make my way over to a table with a tip jar on it. The guy who I suspect is running this crawfish boil has his back turned to me and doesn't even acknowledge me. His friend? then comes up to me after she noticed he was far too invested in his phone to notice and then informs me I'd have to wait at least half an hour if I'd want some. Maybe he's a family friend or is cool with the management at this location, but if Little Woodrow's is going to give this guy free advertising on a billboard that sees 20k cars a day for half-a$s customer service, maybe he should try and be a bit more attentive, or at least have the crawfish ready to eat. I've seen neighborhood lemonade stands run better than this. Forget the tip jar, I couldn't even pay the guy for...
Read moreOne star for a super nice waitress who was working really hard between tons of tables.
There are no prices on any of the drinks. The waitress - once again, super nice - came over and told me from memory al the prices for all the beers. They're not particularly cheap either. An Electric Jellyfish was $7.25 before tax. Compare that to $6 at Workhorse after tax. And almost all the drinks are served in plastic cups. Yuck.
It's cute outside but super duper loud inside. At first glance, it seems like a nice place to watch "the game" but on second thought its basically impossible to talk to other folks at your table... makes game-watching unpleasant.
And the food is really not nice. I'm not sure what kind of health code rule they're following, but they don't adhere to practices of sustainability by any stretch. My buddy got a salad, which was served boxed in a plastic container, with plastic cutlery, and without any plate.
And when I asked for water this other member of the waitstaff looked at me like I was crazy, pointed at the water station near the door.
Unpleasant. Not worth...
