I’ll start this review off by answering the question most of you are probably asking. YES, they have beer, and yes, they have wine!

It’s a casual place that’s good for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And let me be the one to tell you, they are inclusive of everyone; they have gluten free, dairy free, vegan, vegetarian options - AND even options for the carnivores.

Staff are friendly, the eating area is clean, and the quality/quantity is in line with the pricing. It’s walkup counter ordering, and then they bring your food to your table.

I had the Buddha Bowl ($8) and it was plenty of food - I wasn’t even able to finish it all. It included healthy sized slabs of tofu that had a nice, slightly crispy taste around the edges of it, like it had been pan seared or roasted. Rice, cabbage, crushed peanuts, and a peanut mango sauce were all mixed in the bowl. If it weren’t for the slight hint of mango and the cilantro sprinkled in, it would have tasted very similar to phad thai. The peanut sauce had just a slight spicy kick to it, but it’s not one that makes you sweat. The only thing I had an issue with was, most of the broccoli in the bowl was cold. I should have said something about it, but I’m lazy like that, and I’m sure it was just a “one-off” occurrence.

They have outdoor patio seating for those awesome Texas days when we should all be spending a bit of time outside.

There are a couple of entrees on their website and even their window advertisements that weren’t on the menu - and again, since I’m lazy, I didn’t bother to ask…

Hit this place up folks - they’ve got some good, fresh, unique...

I have only eaten here twice. The first time I was completely blown away at how kind the staff was, clean the facilities were, and how incredibly amazing the food was! The presentation of the food was mine blowing, every bit of my food I ate! I ordered a salmon Cesar which is my absolute favorite, and the most delicious Nutella waffle I’ve ever had in my life!

Unfortunately Tuesday night July 20th My friend and I were craving the salmon Cesar and Nutella waffle again, so we drove 25 minutes to the store. We got there around 8:30 PM. I ordered my salmon Caesar, with a Nutella waffle to go. It was not until I got home but I noticed my order had many issues.

The waffle that I ordered was not a Nutella waffle but a completely different waffle. The salmon in my salad was so incredibly dry you absolutely needed a drink to get it down. The salad also had at least 95% large chunks of iceberg lettuce in it and it was not as fresh and beautiful as a salad that I had had before. They were also literally two croutons and an absolutely astounding amount of cucumber pieces thrown into the mix.

My friend salad was also lacking in flavor and presentation as well. Her salmon was also just as dry if not more. However she did have less iceberg chunks and her salad than I. I was extremely disappointed and at the time was already home and the store hours were already closed. I wish like hell I could have had the opportunity to go back and get it made correctly. Because the food here is absolutely outstanding! Maybe I just got my order placed on...

First off, I want to state that out of the last 7 Postemates Deliveries, Modern Market got it RIGHT. Everything I ordered was in the bag! Now onto the quality and satisifaction. I ordered the Grass Fed Steak over rice with Arugala Salad and Blue Cheese. The steak was exceptional. Tasy, Tender and excellent. I also ordered the half Carved Chicken, and as of this moment I have not eaten it, but if the steak is any indication then the chicken should also be amazing as well. Called them personally to thank them for the following. First, they got the order right. All items I ordered were in the bag, Second, it was very well prepared. The reason I am making such an importance on them getting the order right is because the last 7 orders I placed with Postmates, something has been wrong each and every time! I did however ask the driver to make sure that everything was in the bag that I ordered and he confirmed it. Postemates has a problem with their drivers making sure orders are correct. I have tried to find some understanding in all this, however when it happens, time and time again then it falls on the driver to look at whats ordered and paraphrase to the resturant employee that it is in fact correct. Thats all thats needed and to me thats what matters when tipping. I still try and tip but honestly its gotten to a point that they are just there to pick up what they think is right instead of confirming that it is in fact correct. This experience turned out well and I will continue to order from...

If you're looking for a healthy place to grab lunch, this is certainly a great spot. Few things that are unique to Modern Market (MM) is that the receipt they give you actually has the nutritional value of whatever it is you ordered. Furthermore, if you bring back your receipt to MM within a week, you get a small discount on your next order of food. I've gone here a half a dozen times and I typically will almost always get the same thing here. Their "Flatiron" steak salad is amazing! It comes with mixed greens, caramelized onions, mixed greens roasted potatoes, bleu cheese, and flank steak. The dressing they use is some kind of unique balsamic vinaigrette that I really love. I've also had the "Chipotle Steak" sandwich, and I really enjoy that as well. The only reason I can't fully give this place a full five stars is it's a little on the pricey side. Overall though a solid lunch spot to frequent in the Arboretum area.

My first time at this particular location. I am on spring break visiting family and decided to treat the kids to a plant based meal. My cousin ordered first and paid and while I was getting the Children’s food choices the five year old in the group went and filled a cup with juice. Thinking nothing of it I continued selecting food. That’s when I was approached and chastised by a young employee. Even when speaking with the manager about his approach I was told. “You pay first here!” Let’s normalize having more empathy for mothers especially mothers who are with children who are not biologically theirs. Empathy and patience would have been great rather than being profiled and judged instantly. The meal was good despite the service and behaviors of employee. As a business owner there’s no way this would be the representation of my company. Let’s increase wages and etiquette.
