Ao5 is hands down the best gallery in Austin. I’ve lived here 20+ years and Ao5 will always have my business. Todd, the owner is very personable and extremely knowledgeable. Looking for something you saw but can’t find anywhere when you looked for it again? Ask Todd. He literally found the artist and painting and called the artist on my behalf. The result? A custom piece directly from the artist. He has relationships all over the country and it helps the business immensely.
Now framing- I have brought in some relatively normal pieces and some very unusual. Ellen (only certified framer in central Texas) is a genius. I’ve gone in with everything from photos to a limited edition scarf with no idea what I wanted. She asks the right questions to determine a vision and takes her time working with you on it. She is also budget conscious and isn’t out to sell the most expensive frame- she finds the right frame for you while keeping your budget in mind.
The tag team of the two of them can’t be beat! Do yourself a favor and talk to Todd about art and Ellen about framing. You’ll be glad you did! New location is great as well because there is so much to see...
Read moreI fell in love with a painting here about a year ago and had stopped in a few times to look at it. About a month ago we went back to see if they still had it, and finally purchase it, only to find out it had sold that morning! It’s a limited edition giclee print so I figured my chance to have it was gone.
The Gallery director, Todd, contacted the artist for me, who responded almost immediately, and Todd was able to order it for me. It came home today- I absolutely love everything about it.
If you’re ever looking to purchase art, or even just like looking at art, I highly recommend Ao5. Todd went above and beyond to find me the painting and he is super personable and friendly. Everyone there is super nice and gives amazing customer service! They have rotating artists on display as well so often you get to...
Read moreI randomly came across this gallery when I was going for a pedicure. The allure of original movie posters caught my attention in a really big way. I was lucky to have met the owner who was prepping prints at the front and after chatting with him for a few minutes I thought he was crazy 😂 But then I walked through his gallery and everything made sense. I have been very fortunate in my life to experience many different gallery spaces, art exhibits, and traveling shows etc I have never seen a layout like this one and it took my breath away. I found myself smiling as I walked through without really understanding why and left feeling better than when I came in. I meant to reconnect with the owner again to let him know but had to run to my pedicure appointment. I will be back...
