I was on my way to Texas Original Compassionate Cultivation and noticed the great folk artwork and general open area with a Saloon predominately showing and decided to try the Bar B Q on my way back and was EXTREMELEY PLEASED (at not just the food but the prices)! I tried the Bar B Q but they also had a taco stand in the area. I ordered the beans and Mac and cheese for side dishes and despite having a pretty bad pepper allergy (which sucks, because I enjoy the flavor of pepper) I devoured the Brisket sandwich and half of both sides! The taste was NOT just original (I habe lived in Texas for DECADES and have eaten brisket beans and Mac MANY TIMES) bit it was VERY enjoyable! I recommend anyone that lives in the Austin area to stop by, you will not regret it! I wish I lived in the area, it looks like they have live bands during the evenings but even during the days, the food is OUSTANDING and the area is very fun and interesting to look around. I posted a vid on YouTube but, unfortunately, didn't think to take any stills. If you look up my name, or type in Foreman, Goldie (my dogs names) you can see a 3 min walkaround video (sorry it was so shaky, the day...
Read moreOk, pre-facing this post...we live by Drinks we have ate at Smokin Brew's several times and have tried many menu items and everything is always absolutely delicious! But this is the 2nd time we've ordered the fried pickles and the 1st time I thought for $9 it wasn't much quantity, but chalked it up because they are good. Maybe just an off day. We ordered them again just yesterday and what we got was absolutely ridiculous! For $9 it's expected you are ordering more than a SIDE item quantity amount. I would have expected the little paper tray to be full, instead they put the burger on the tray and literally threw a small HANDFUL amt.. 8 small sliced pickles to be exact. When you remove the burger from the tray (see pic) look how ridiculous that looks! That's not worth $9 at all. You can go anywhere and order fried pickles at a bar and get 3xs that amt for 9 bucks. Their menu states it's a "BASKET of delicious pickles..." ...word BASKET is...
Read moreI pretty much never leave reviews, but I feel compelled in this case. Smokin’ was new on Uber Eats and we decided to give them a shot, and we’re totally happy we did! These guys are rockstars.
We got turkey, brisket, and sliced sausage. The sides we tried were potato salad, mac and cheese, and brisket beans.
Everything was simply beyond incredible. Nothing was overcooked or dried out. The flavors were great without anything tasting over seasoned. Other shops have gross levels of grease, but thankfully this wasn’t the case here.
They included very tasty pickled onions which we’ve not found in other local places. The jalapeños, raw onions, pickles, and carrots were also lovely.
Price wise, Smokin’ is insanely reasonable for the quality and quantity. We couldn’t believe that we could get over 3lbs of superb food for less than $70 before tax/fees.
Hands down the best bbq place we’ve come across in Texas. We will definitely...
