I had never heard of this chain before and after eating at the Austin location, I'll be searching out other places to get my fix!
I started my meal with a Bangcock Bloody Mary, though the decision was tough because there were several options. I was impressed that these specialty bloodies weren't jacked up in price and that my drink was only $7.50. The flavor was very good! It wasn't crazy spicy, even though there was siracha in it. The cilantro was a nice flavor as well, and again, not overpowering. My favorite was the garnish, which included a homemade pickle.
Next was the main course. Again, another difficult decision because EVERYTHING looked good!! I'm a sucker for Bennie's, so when I saw I could order the Benny Duo and have my choice of two specialty Bennie's...I knew that was what I was getting.
I got the Summer Harvest Benedict, which is a "parmesan pesto quinoa cake with fresh caprese salad topped with fresh cage free poached egg, cream cheese hollandaise, balsamic reduction and parmesan crisps." Wow. My taste buds were having a field day in my mouth! The parmesan flavor was a nice texture different and the balsamic reduction was an unexpected flavor explosion! I found myself doing whatever I could to soak up all the cream cheese hollandaise as well. Yum!!
My other choice was the Benny Goodman, which was, "lox style salmon and cream cheese served over toasted rye and topped with a poached cage free egg, cream cheese hollandaise, and sun dried tomato and caper relish." I'm not a fan of rye bread, so I substituted it out for an English muffin. This one was also very good and a flavor combo that I've never considered. The salmon tasted fresh and was overall very yummy.
Finally, the side of potatoes. I know it seems silly, but even the potatoes were good! They had a nice spice and were formed into a little mound of sorts. They were perfect for any audience because the mound was crispy on the outside and soft in the center!
The restaurant itself has a cool modern, retro vibe with a full bar. Our party of 6 got to sit at one of their round tables. It was a little tight, but I enjoyed that I could hear all of the conversations going on and be involved. Our server was upbeat and friendly and even suggested a few things we could do around the city during our stay.
Overall, this is a great value, fun, and very tasty restaurant to grab brunch at. I can't wait...
Read moreThis place was amazing x100! I got the white omelette w/ chicken sausage, spinach, and cheddar cheese. It also came with a hash brown which was circular and so good and wheat toast with a strawberry homemade spread which was soooo good as well! My dad ended up with the Chile Verde bernedict with barbacoa beef. His came with some kind of buscuit and hash brown as well! It was my first time there and the waitress told us about them being known for the pancakes. So with our meals we got Flight which came with 3 different pancakes. Now when I tell y'all these were the best pancakes I have ever had they we're most definitely the best of the best. We ordered the pineapple pancake, the blueberry pancake, and the sweet potato pancake. Now I've never been one to like my pancakes mixed with anything but they we're the best pancakes on this planet. They also gave my dad a complimentary chocolate pancake that my dad ate up so quick so below I have just a piece of that pancake pic. We got there at 1050 and got seated at 1115. So there was a wait but it was worth it! They have a set up where u can either be seated inside or outside or first available and then they text you when your seat is available. The parking was packed but supposedly there is a parking garage somewhere u can park in. The service was so great our waitress was Brittany and she was full of information about the menu and what was good there! There was also other people that helped out and made sure we were comfortable and had all the things we needed! One more thing I thought was unique about this place was that while u wait you can get free coffee and they have paper straws probably for...
Read moreMy first visit to this location (and I visited all in Houston, SAT, Austin).
The food arrived quickly, was hot and tasted good. The tomatoes in the salads were not very firm but overall I enjoyed the changed in the usual salad (used to be just an arugula and now it has spinach leaves and delicious toasted pepita seeds). Avocado on the toast was not very appetizing (lots of brown sport and very tiny pieces, much smaller than at other locations). Hush browns were very tasty: fluffy cake with the crisp on the outside. Glazed bacon was very good - sweet and salty. Pancakes were great as at any other Snooze location (the new pumpkin pecan pie was very unusual and gave a nice seasonal touch to our meal). Eggs both ways were very fresh and tasty prepared.
The waitress didn’t introduced herself but was attentive but not noisy, we liked her.
A few down things:
The host ladies were not very pleasant at this location; also the wait time was ridiculous even with the Yelp (they messed up and gave my table to someone, I had to wait outside in cold again). Parking is very tight (took a while to find a spot).
Music was extremely loud (like almost in all locations I’ve been). Always looking forward to the second pause between the songs for a quick relief. Of course, it’s naturally that people don’t sit for a long time at their tables but you cannot enjoy food with such a high distraction (I truly feel sorry for the workers - they have to be in this cacophony...
