Literally the worst. If there was a reward for the worlds worst customer service, Sonic would win by a landslide. I went to Sonic 1/30/21 around 7:45-8:00pm and placed an order. Once you place your food it tells you that you have three options to pay, "card, cash and app" . I chose to pay through the app and it told me to get into the app and chose stall 14 in order to pay. Therefore, I did as such. However, there was nowhere to chose stall 14 and I was confused so I waited until the employee came out with my food in order to ask him about it. When he did as such, he told me my bill and I told him about the issue I was having. He then proceeded to say that he would talk to his manager and see what was going on. When he came back from talking to his manager, he told me there was no such thing as paying with the app. Confused , I explained to him again what the screen had told me and how it has always been an option. The employee seemed fairly new and did his best to help me so I appreciated his effort. However, the manager did absolutely nothing. Instead of coming to my car and explaining the situation he TOLD the EMPLOYEE to tell me that he was going to cancel my order. Instead of trying to solve my issue or provide me with other options, the manager managed to fail one of the tasks that tends to fall into managing positions. I understand that people get busy, but I've been coming to Sonic for quite some time now and have come to know that their service is always either 1. slow 2. filled with bad attitude and 3. the food is always either cold, messed up , or really late. Therefore taking 2 minutes out of your "busy day" to talk to a concerned customer shouldn't be a problem when it comes to a franchise like this. Don't come here, only good thing they serve are the cheddar peppers and limeades, but its not worth waiting 20-40...
Read moreI historically used to avoid Sonic due to being in hot sweaty Texas. But recently I've started using the app to order ahead and this location does a great job of working with the app. It's extremely handy and I've only had two minor issues (topping wrong once on a busy day, stale hot dog bun).
Considering the amount of chances they had to mess things up, they've actually done really well. And prices on items do not seem to have gone up as quickly as at other restaurants.
I'm definitely a new convert.
Edit: Oops, and a week later I have to walk a lot of what I said back. My experience on 11Aug19 - 7:10 am Look up time they open. It says 7am on the net, so I order a burrito for pick up on the app 7:20 Get to store and type in my location. 7:42 Employee comes by and says they don't open until 8am and she's waiting for the store manager (tells the other 3 people waiting the same thing). I go do some shopping. 8:00 I come back since I don't know how to cancel an already paid for order. The stall still says "Hello Douglas, your order is in the kitchen" 8:14 Store manager tells me she forgot her keys and someone is bringing them. It'll be another 30 minutes until they open. I ask her to cancel the order and go to Taco Cabana. 8:22 I get an email receipt saying I'm being billed. 10:42 I call the store since the charge hasn't been canceled (as requested) or reversed. Am told it will take 24 to 48 hours.
Not sure why the wheels suddenly came off there...2 stars come off for now...
Edit2: OK, I'm adding back a star. I've been refunded and used them several times since with no more issues. Looks like this may have been a one-off issue....
