Starbucks — Restaurant in Austin

I get hired as a "mystery diner" at multiple different types of establishments. I haven't been hired here but it was a time I wish I had. This is why I felt the need to write a review so the company and future customers will know my experience.

Alec was my server and he gets 5 stars across the board. While ordering I changed my order multiple times (standard test) and he remained patient, helpful, genuinely friendly and didn't rush me. He offered things tailored to me as an individual without over selling me. All around Impeccable customer service skills. He double checked my order before giving it to me bc it was a large order. Lastly, when I gave him my card to pay he handed me the card reader and as a bonus looked away (lol) to let me choose if I wanted to tip or not. MANY fast food restaurants that DON'T do this (CUSTOMER BEWARE). I run across to many establishments who illegally enter in an amount, unbeknownst to the customer, and keep the cash or they ask the customer to enter it in themselves which also shouldn't be done. When I complimented Alec on doing this, he was shocked to hear that many establishments don't do this and asked if I had experienced that there, with intent to report it if I had. Check plus! Alec should be training other staff and honestly should be managing the place!👍 Great job to Alec and thanks largely to him this location would pass on...

Came here on Saturday around 8am and ordered a Double Smoked Breakfast Sandwich. Mind you, there was no other people in the store at the time. Sat and waited for over 20 minutes and still didn't get our one sandwich.

I told Katie that we had been waiting for over 20 minutes and wanted to make sure our order didn't get lost in translation. She proceeded to tell me they were just super busy and backed up and our order will be out shortly. She was no help at all.

We waited another 10 minutes until we asked another employee named Sam. We asked Sam if our order had been lost, as we had been waiting for over 20 minutes. Again, we were given a super generic response. He proceeded to tell me they were just super busy and backed up and our order will be out shortly. At this point I was ready to walk out. Why didn't any of these employees actually look into our order to see what was going on?

Finally, Sam put two braincells together and walked over with his tablet to tell us that we had been waiting for over 27 minutes (tried to tell you that), and it looks like someone had closed out our order without actually making it for us.

I do not recommend this Starbucks. The employees here are super dismissive, and it felt like they cared more about online orders and drive thru than the in-person customers. What a bummer because their upstairs seating is so nice. Horrible...

Placed an order in the app while waiting in the long drive thru line. It was for 2 drinks and 3 or 4 breakfast sandwiches. When I finally got up to the board to order (about 5-6 minutes later), I let them know I was picking up an order. The person then chastised me and said: "Next time when you place an order, you need to give us at least 15 minutes."

But...that made no sense since if they'd taken my order right then, they would have had...5-6 minutes LESS to make my order? The logic was super confusing and she went on an on about how they need extra time to "make a large order" but it was only 2 drinks and microwaving 3 sandwiches? And if I hadn't ordered in the app they wouldn't have had a headstart.

The whole thing was bizarre and they made me pull through when I got to the window and said they'd bring my order out when they were done. But there was nowhere to park, so I just sat awkwardly in the way and then they brought out my drink in the wrong size, gave me 1 packet of sriracha instead of 4, and no napkins or anything. But because they had made me pull through, and there was no place to park, my only options were: Tough sh!t or get back in the now even longer drive thru line.

Three stars because I love that they have Impossible breakfast sandwiches and that they finally have sriracha again (even if they only gave me...
