Steve's Pizza — Restaurant in Austin

I organized lunch for a large group of kids. We were on a tour and had a little time between concerts that we needed to plan something for. We split our large group into two smaller groups of 35. Half ate at Steve’s Pizza while the other half toured the Spam Museum then we switched. Our time frame was not flexible. 11-11:35 and 11:50-12:25. Steve’s said they could accommodate us even though we’d be there right as they opened. I called in our order a couple days in advance and talked to Michael. He was able to answer all my questions and listened well to what the needs were in our group. He was extremely friendly and helpful. I was with the first group that arrived. We arrived a couple minutes before 11. Michael was there and as soon as he saw us he greeted us and showed us where to go. They already had the table set up, 35 glasses of ice with plenty of filled pitchers of the beverages we ordered. By the time 1/2 the kids had their drinks filled, the pizza and garlic cheese bread was out for us. On the phone I had asked if our garlic bread runs out quickly, could they get us out some more fairly quickly? He said they could. It did go really quick. Micheal noticed this and came to me to ask if we wanted to add another order. The service was outstanding! I wasn’t there for the second group but when I asked someone who was they said everything went smooth for them as well and they did a good job with turning around and getting everything ready for that second group. I would highly recommend Steve’s pizza...

Today will probably be the last time I ever ate or buy from here. I have been a constant customer since 2022 because I worked close by. I see how the waitress are super nice to other customers but I'm usually treated differently and of course I know it's a race thing. One time I called to place an order and when I got there, the waitress said I didn't show up early and food got cold so they had to throw my food away, they didn't call me even though I gave them my number. I had to place a new order and she charged me for both the one they claimed was thrown away and my current order. I paid and left. Now I come in today and order for a chicken sandwich with lettuce and mayo, I specifically told her ( Kristin) I don't want pickles and cheese or tomatoes because I'm pregnant and have a different taste. I waited for over 15mins only for her to bring me exactly what I said I don't want. She was mad and said I didn't tell her that. Well, she claims she doesn't know me or recognize me when as a matter of fact each time I had been there I was the only black person in the room and it's easy to identify me, moreover this same Kristin lady is someone who has always been the one to serve me and I would even tip her. Like I said, today is the last time I will ever be there and I'm going to tell all my friends about...

Breakdown.

Crust. Perfect. Square cut thin to medium charred a touch crispy on edges still a touch crispy on middlI'm in from MPLS. Went to SPAM museum. Some one said its the best pizza in town. I would like to say among the top pizza in upper midwest at least and maybe more.

As a qualifier I have driven over 1.5 MM miles and traveled as many as a construction professional. i know pizza. Except New York pizza

When I called to order I had a thorough order taker. I asked Do you make your pizza well done or medium. Dude said medium. I asked for well done dude said sure. Can I sub spam for Canadian bacon. Dude said sure.

I know pineapple is divisive on pizza F..... Off to the haters. Ordered dude said order back as i did. 12" Hawaiian sub spam for CB. Well done. Pepper flakes Chef salad with french and blue. That will be there between 40 and 50 mins. Showed up in 42 minse. Thumbs up

Sauce. I always want more. However, if it disrupts the crust....

Crust, sauce cheese toppings ratio. Perfect. If the sauce wouldn't mess with crust, more sauce please.

Delivery. On time, polite, fresh and he had correct change for cash.

Salad. Standard upper midwest salad. Could probably up their game here. Not bad not great.
