I ordered the Lemon Chicken lunch and honestly was not impressed. Service was fine, no issues there. They took my order and made it right away. However, the quality of this dish was sub-par. Here's a pros and cons list of my experience.
Pros: The wonton soup served with the meal was delicious. It didn't need soy sauce but tasted even better with it. (I did have to microwave it to bring it up to temperature.) The side of fried rice was tasty as well and didn't cost extra. The lunch price was great, less than $10. Food was prepared quickly (maybe too quickly, based on the following cons)
Cons: The chicken was bland without any salt or seasoning The tempura batter on the Chicken was soggy and falling off. Making the bland chicken even more prevalent. All components of the dish, and sides were lukewarm. -The lemon sauce served on the side was ice cold. Not hot, nor room temp, but cold. So with the Chicken not being hot, the cold sauce was extra weird. (Microwaving it to a boil helped) Chicken was not minced into small enough pieces, but rather was served in chicken tender sized portions. (which probably explains the poor tempura quality.) -The egg roll was room temp and pretty greasy for finger food. Seemed to not be served fresh.
Overall not a great dish. However, I would like to point out that a wok-prepared dish like Kung Pow or Hunan chicken would probably not run into these issues. Wok-prepped dishes are always scolding hot. Also, most wok-prepared dishes are cooked with sauces and seasoning and without a tempura batter, so I doubt I would run into the same issue if I ordered something more...
Read moreWe ordered for pickup for the first time, trusting the stars and doing our best to try something new. Overall, I was bummed and wish we had ordered from our standard place. Some concerns that I think would have made the place better:
Please update the online descriptions. There were several high-allergy items in the dishes that were not listed. Several of them were not standard for the dish and made opening them up instantly disappointing. Had I known about those ingredients, I would have happily chosen different items to try.
Please amend the title for the Singapore noodles to list it as combination or include the meats in the description. Huge bummer to open my favorite dish and find it completely inedible due to ingredients.
Why does the fried rice not have any veggies? No veggies and the rice being on the mushy side was not great.
If you're looking for larger portions of mediocre Asian food and don't have any dietary restrictions you have to consider, this might be the place for you. For our family, the fact that the main ingredients of each dish aren't listed means...
Read moreOrdered a couple of simple things for takeout; egg rolls, dumplings, and a wonton soup. My total came to nearly fifteen dollars.
The egg rolls were fine, though certainly not worth almost five dollars for two.
The dumplings are from Costco. I'm serious, they're the ones you buy in a massive bag in the frozen section. Worst dumplings ever.
The wanton soup only comes in one size, in a styrofoam cups which is much smaller than a standard plastic takeout soup container, and then they only filled the cup halfway. They seem to have used some kind of tasteless vegetable broth rather than chicken broth (or maybe they just water it down insanely). There was only one wonton. The rest was filled with cabbage. Cabbage everywhere.
I have not tried any of their other dishes and I don't intend to. If you're going to overcharge and you can't even make your own dumplings or wonton soup, you're not a Chinese...
