I had a disappointing experience at your coffee shop due to an issue with the payment system and poor customer service. When I ordered a drip coffee, I was initially charged $2.50 and added a $1 tip. However, the barista then informed me that only $2 had been charged to my gift card, leaving $1 remaining. When I attempted to pay the remaining balance, I was charged an additional $2.50, resulting in a total charge of $4.50 for a $2.50 coffee.
After pointing out this discrepancy and showing the barista my phone as proof that I had been double charged, she seemed unable to grasp the issue. Instead of investigating the problem or offering a refund, she simply stated that it was out of her control and that I would need to contact my bank.
While I understand that $2.50 may not seem like a large sum, the lack of clarity in your pricing, the flaws in your payment system, and the unhelpful attitude of your staff left me feeling overcharged and undervalued as a customer. This experience soured what should have been a simple, pleasant coffee break.
I hope you will look into this matter, rectify the issues with your payment process, and provide additional training to your staff on handling customer concerns with empathy and professionalism. Until then, I cannot in good conscience provide a five-star rating, as the service I received fell far short of my...
Read moreExceptional coffee comes from Texas Coffee Traders in Austin Texas.
I buy 3 lbs (weeks) at a time for my self and my 95 year old mother. Each day we discuss the quality of the cup of coffee as we drink it in the morning. We have been doing this for 15 years. It reminds her of when she was a child and her mother as well as all the neighborhood ladies bought their beans green every week. Each day they would roast the beans on the stove top. When my mother was 3 years old she learned to grind the beans with a hand crank.
Ruth can recollect the aroma of the neighborhood roasting coffee through all these years. We agree in the supreme awesomeness of the Texas Coffee Traders product.
Philz's coffee in San Francisco is pretty good. They specialize on the artistically brewed cup. In fact I can think of none better--been tasting exotic coffees for 40 years. Come in at the right time and the experts at Texas Coffee traders will brew up different roasts and blends according to different methods for...
Read moreUpdate: I love Texas Coffee Traders even more. I always place my orders for pick up and love to get 1/4 lbs to try new coffees. I temporarily moved out of Austin and their online portal is great and easy to order from, but doesn't offer smaller weights than 1 lb. I was able to place my order over the phone with the request for 1/4 lb coffee beans and get it delivered. I'm very with happy with how accommodating they are.
Previous: I love this place. The smell alone is worth a trip.
They can make you fresh coffee drinks, you can buy coffee supplies and coffee in bulk here. You can do whole bean or they can grind it for you.
The people working here are all amazing as well. The parking lot is small and it can be hard to find parking if it's full.
They also have a stand at the SFC farmers market at burger stadium and you can make a special order so they have it there for you BUT the stand only takes cash.
My favorite beans are Krakatoa and the...
