I had a disappointing experience at your coffee shop due to an issue with the payment system and poor customer service. When I ordered a drip coffee, I was initially charged $2.50 and added a $1 tip. However, the barista then informed me that only $2 had been charged to my gift card, leaving $1 remaining. When I attempted to pay the remaining balance, I was charged an additional $2.50, resulting in a total charge of $4.50 for a $2.50 coffee.

After pointing out this discrepancy and showing the barista my phone as proof that I had been double charged, she seemed unable to grasp the issue. Instead of investigating the problem or offering a refund, she simply stated that it was out of her control and that I would need to contact my bank.

While I understand that $2.50 may not seem like a large sum, the lack of clarity in your pricing, the flaws in your payment system, and the unhelpful attitude of your staff left me feeling overcharged and undervalued as a customer. This experience soured what should have been a simple, pleasant coffee break.

I hope you will look into this matter, rectify the issues with your payment process, and provide additional training to your staff on handling customer concerns with empathy and professionalism. Until then, I cannot in good conscience provide a five-star rating, as the service I received fell far short of my...

Exceptional coffee comes from Texas Coffee Traders in Austin Texas.

I buy 3 lbs (weeks) at a time for my self and my 95 year old mother. Each day we discuss the quality of the cup of coffee as we drink it in the morning. We have been doing this for 15 years. It reminds her of when she was a child and her mother as well as all the neighborhood ladies bought their beans green every week. Each day they would roast the beans on the stove top. When my mother was 3 years old she learned to grind the beans with a hand crank.

Ruth can recollect the aroma of the neighborhood roasting coffee through all these years. We agree in the supreme awesomeness of the Texas Coffee Traders product.

Philz's coffee in San Francisco is pretty good. They specialize on the artistically brewed cup. In fact I can think of none better--been tasting exotic coffees for 40 years. Come in at the right time and the experts at Texas Coffee traders will brew up different roasts and blends according to different methods for...

Update: I love Texas Coffee Traders even more. I always place my orders for pick up and love to get 1/4 lbs to try new coffees. I temporarily moved out of Austin and their online portal is great and easy to order from, but doesn't offer smaller weights than 1 lb. I was able to place my order over the phone with the request for 1/4 lb coffee beans and get it delivered. I'm very with happy with how accommodating they are.

Previous: I love this place. The smell alone is worth a trip.

They can make you fresh coffee drinks, you can buy coffee supplies and coffee in bulk here. You can do whole bean or they can grind it for you.

The people working here are all amazing as well. The parking lot is small and it can be hard to find parking if it's full.

They also have a stand at the SFC farmers market at burger stadium and you can make a special order so they have it there for you BUT the stand only takes cash.

My favorite beans are Krakatoa and the...

I have a great deal of nostalgia related to this coffee company. Coffee Traders had a coffee shop in the RLM building at the University of Texas. When I started attending UT in 2018, I had a habit of grabbing a cup of coffee before attending class (almost on a daily basis). In all honesty, to this very day, I do not recall having a cup of coffee more flavorful than the ones served at the RLM coffee shop. After the pandemic came, my classes became fully virtual and I came back to Houston. Upon my return to University for the fall 2021 semester, I went to RLM and saw the coffee shop had closed. I had been saving my punch card for a free cup of coffee for nearly 2 years which I could not redeem. After graduating in 2022, I became aware that coffee traders were still in business. Last week I placed my order and it got delivered today. Taking a sip out of my cup really brought back some very pleasant memories. Will definitely be reordering coffee from here again.

Texas Coffee Traders is a retailer for amazing fresh roasted coffee. They showcase 100 varaties of roasts, beans and flavors custom ground to your needs at the time of order. While they supply coffee to the local restaurants and markets, and generously give back to the community, that is only part of the story. The warm down to earth friendly staff know about the coffees and educate, share and patiently answer your questions as you can sample the difference between different coffee brewing methods (Sock, French Press, drip.) Swing by and get a fantastic coffee drink that bests any barista or coffee chain out there, and pick up some fresh coffee for home. Supplying the coffee for the home coffee fan to supplying large gatherings such as KUT's Christmas Sing Along at the capital, and all businesses in between, don't miss out on visiting this gem of Austin.

I am posting this because I never seen no one at this place Texas trader coffee whatever it is they’ve been there for a while. They live right behind them. They have two dumpsters outside of their fence and I’m fed up with every day. I get home from work. I have to pick up trash in my yard in the street in front of my house because someone comes and plays in their trash cans and looking for some to eat or just digging the trash taking deep and all the trash out of the dumpster. I do not know why they cannot get a lock on that, never talk to anybody cause you never see anybody there the place is always empty so because tired of picking up trash every day, these people was like they don’t care move into the neighborhood. Don’t come check on it or anything.
