Canopy Austin — Attraction in Austin

We loved our stay at the Canopy in Austin! But be warned -- a street view can mean loud music and bar crowds until 3 a.m.! We had no idea that SXSW was in town when we planned our trip, I know, I know...the street was packed with people with live bands and music competing for your attention. If this is your thing, then you'll love it. If not, don't pick a streetview side room! Staff was super friendly, accommodations were clean and neat, we loved the sliding door between the bedroom area and bathroom. And the pool was fantastic, we felt like we were really pampered sitting out and enjoying the warm...

My favorite center of art. Their huge self-directed art tours, West & east, are coming up - three weekends, noon to six daily. Join to receive the great catalog of our over 500 artists and groups. Still by appt. and virtual, a lot online. They have some Open Studios at the Canopy, 916 Springdale Road, 1 - 4 Saturdays if I recall, and some talks, training, networking - still online but things will change.

A former decaying Goodwill shipping center; this building has shed it's ugly duckling past and is becoming a beautiful swan. The canopy is an haven for artistic/creative types. With a handful of art studios, boutiques and an excellent coffee shop, Canopy though fairly new, will become a haven on the east side. So much potential in this complex. Sa Ten coffee is a beautiful well lit place with a bright and gorgeous future, not to mention it's BYOB. Some view it as gentrification, in this case it's more like...
