I am very disappointed with TRH. I arrived at the south location at 2 pm and had my son check us in since it was his big day celebrating his graduation. We had agreed two weeks before that over 10 of our family members would come down for this important event. The young lady who took my son's number and name down mentioned it would be about 30-45 minutes. We said ok and agreed since my son wanted to celebrate at TRH. We checked in at the 30-minute mark- nothing yet (you are next, she said). I checked in at 45, and the same thing happened. I was like they are busy. I checked back in at the hour; this time, I was sure we would be seated next. Nothing happened, so I came back, and you could already tell the young girl was frustrated with me asking and coming back multiple times. I figured she would know I was still waiting if I stood inside. I stepped out to get my family since, indeed, we were following. I mean, it's been 1:20, min, Right? As soon as I step out, the young lady announces over the intercom to call our party to the front for the second time. Im like, seriously?? She did not even make the first attempt. Im like, whatever at this point. Let's eat, I said. Not only was our table not ready! But the receptionist and other employees started to laugh and look at my family. Our table was not ready, and we waited longer inside. It has emberrasing, humiliating and just rude. I was distraught at this point. I approached the receptionist to ask her why the table was still not ready and why she would lie and say she called the party name twice. She not only laughed but got loud with me. So I then got loud with her and requested her manager. He was no help either. He had excuse after excuse and did nothing to solve the problem. This probably had to be the worst experience I have ever had. Im not one to argue or fight, but my son graduated, and I was proud, and I had family with me. I feel horrible they had to see me this way, but thankfully, my family stood by my side and said, let's go, it's ok. They don't care, and dont need our money. So we left. I dare the person reading this review to go back and look at the cameras. I was probably longer there with my son and family from 2 pm-3:20 pm. Take down how often my son, me, and sister ask about our table. Watch a young 4-year-old girl see her mom get upset and cry! Time is precious, and so is how you spend your money. It's hard for people to go out and celebrate when things are expensive. All the receptionist had to say was, maam, it's going to be over an hour, and we would have smiled, said thank you, and...
Read moreMy husband and I went to have dinner. We love Texas Roadhouse. But this time was not it. The waiter was no where to be found. We didn't have all of our items to enjoy our meal together at once. Things were getting cold. But the reason I'm actually writing a review is because my husband ordered a side of sautéed mushrooms and there was a peice if cardboard mixed in! He was chewing and almost swallowed it! This is unacceptable 😤 please be WAY more careful. This could have gone a totally different way......
Update... I received a phone call from the manager. He was disappointed in our service and the findings in mushrooms. He was super kind and supportive. He offered myself and my husband a small gift card and encouraged us to come back and give them another try. Well, we did, and the staff was amazing. The managers were great. The problem is the cooks. I ordered a salmon and my husband ordered fried pickles. All of the pickles had holes in the center. They look like donut pickles. I informed the waiter she then informed the manager and they made us a new fresh batch. They still came back the same. I'm not sure what was going on. Now about my salmon. My salmon was brought to the table. The butter was not even melted on top of it and I felt my salmon because that seemed odd to me my salmon was cold as if they got it out of the fridge. I informed the waiter and she then informed the manager. They removed my salmon from my plate.Took it to the back and reheated it then brought me back the same salmon piece. I'm not sure what happen to the salmon. Not sure if it was a bad peice or cooks made it bad by inproper care of fish. It being cold sitting there, double cooked. Or what? But I have been vomiting all night this morning. I had no energy. Bad body aches. It's been horrible! I got some kind of sickness from that salmon. Not being cooked correctly. I really think someone needs to make sure that these cooks are on top of safety precautions as far as choking hazards and correctly cooked and handled food. This is so careless. As I mentioned before this was one of our go to places. Sadly it won't be for a very long time unfortunately. Wish I didn't have to make this post but...
Read moreI came to the restaurant regularly and decided to have a birthday party to support their business. Unfortunately, although my server Matt and the food were excellent, the hostess could have been more friendly and welcoming.
I had a big group of 11 people, so I made sure to call in to get on a waitlist. I arrived on time and checked in with the hostess upon my arrival. The hostess was so direct that she wouldn't sit my birthday group until all 11 of us were there.
I told her that my plan was for the group to meet and start dinner at 7 p.m., and one of the friends wouldn't get off work until 7 p.m., so he wouldn't be able to join until later. But, unfortunately, the hostess would not listen and insisted the whole party had to be there. At that time, I had 9 people in my group, so I told her I could get a table for 9 people and squeezed in together when the other 2 people showed up.
Around 7:30 p.m., when the table was ready, I had 10 people in my group. The hostess did the headcount and asked where the 11th person was. Again, I told her he worked late and wouldn't get to the restaurant until later and asked her what I should do. The hostess didn't answer my question. Instead, she was displeased and warned me she would let my group sit in only this time.
The whole experience was unpleasant, with my entire birthday group observing me trying to reason with the hostess to get to the table. I wish she could be more understanding and accommodating. I would also appreciate it when I called an hour before to get on a waitlist that they informed me they would only sit in the group when the whole group showed up, so I could have gone elsewhere.
It is not uncommon for a big party group to have one or two people running or joining in late. I wish the restaurant and the hostess has a more practical way to deal with this matter instead of simply refusing the business. And trust me, we all made an effort to be there on time to support the restaurant.
The fact that we missed one person and the hostess made it clear that she didn't want us to be seated and warned us really let us (customers) down. And now I know to avoid having a big party at...
