Good afternoon everyone. I take the time to write in both languages so that everyone knows the reality of this place. A few years ago I had a problem because of bad attention, but what was horrible today. It turns out that they told me that the owner Enrique sometimes makes cappuccino cakes on request and that's why I went to talk to him personally. I left in shock because that man when I told him I needed a favor from him, he thought I was asking for money, he treated me rudely, he turned his back on me and left me talking alone. That is a lack of respect to the client, because neither let me finish talking. I went to ask him for that favor but to pay him. More I will never go to that restaurant that does not represent Cuban culture or education. I was a doctor in my country and I will never recommend that restaurant to anyone. That man is an ill mannered and has no respect for his clients. Thank God life gave me an opportunity to make my sweet in another place and I will not need more of it. For now I do not recommend it, nor will I go anymore. For you Mr. Enrique learn to behave and have an education that lives in the US, because you will lose many customers and your food is neither good nor authentic Cuban. A Cuban with education says it to him.
Read moreWe enjoyed ourselves from the time we walked into the tiny restaurant to the time we left. When we first arrived, it was quiet and the lunch rush had not quite gotten there, so we received extra attention from our waitress. We decided to try two different Cuban sodas: Jupina (tastes like pineapple) and Materva (tastes like tea and apple soda mixed). Our waitress told us about the special for the day, which was Fricase de Pollo. We were a little concerned that it would be too spicy for my daughter since the word spicy was in the description, but the waitress assured us, "nothing is spicy in Cuban food."
We ended up ordering the daily special, a Cuban sandwich, an order of plantain, and a kids meal Mini Ropa Vieja. I have had plantain growing up, so I knew that was a safe bet, but everything else, was a venture because we were trying new things today!
The Fricase del Pollo (kind of like a chicken stew with potatoes) was excellent! It came with black beans and ric, some pasta salad, and some bread. A lot of food for $7.50! I ordered the Cuban sandwich and I loved it. I don't know what kind of bread that is, but it is delicious!. My grandson's Mini Ropa Vieja is like stewed beef and it also came with beans and rice, pasta, and bread. He complained a little at first about the black beans, but we reminded him that we were trying new things. Amazingly, the first thing he finished was his black beans and rice!
We tried a guava/cheese pastry, a cream cheese pastry, and a candy sprinkle cookie for dessert. Can you guess who the cookie was for? I had to beg my grandson to try it! I'm not a fan of sprinkles, but that was a very tasty cookie.
Overall, I was very pleased with our whole experience. I plan to go back because there are more things that I want to try! Thank you for an...
