Lyme Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Avon

I have been hoping to avoid posting this, but tonight was the last straw. We have been here over a dozen times, and this restaurant has proven to be the most inconsistent business I have ever seen. Sometimes we are very happy and others we are extremely disappointed. There seem to be three employees that run it correctly and three or four that don't. We have been turned away 4hrs before closing because of the kitchen being closed on multiple occasions. This time, like others, there were people eating and drinking, and we were told the kitchen just closed. Other times, we have witnessed multiple potential customers turned away due to kitchen being closed hours before closing. Almost always, there are 7 to 10 customers drinking and acting very familiar with the waitstaff while peo l e are being turned away. Just ok ... Outside looks nice inside it's high top bar tables or side room. Lots of flies buzzing the restaurant inside. Food just ok the spicy chicken was flavorful but mostly breading and THIN I mean like they cut a chicken breast into 3 or 4 slices not meaty at all. Tacos ok, fries ok. Lettuce wraps w chicken were just odd flavor like they used way too much soy sauce and some other spice (barely edible) the salmon was ok but the Brussels sprouts were somehow over AND under cooked at the same time ...should slice those in half by the way ... but they just seemed to pan fry whole with bacon maybe boiled to I dunno just weirdly hard inside and mush outside ... 3rd time there but I...

The food was average, but the patio and music provided a nice atmosphere. I was disappointed to see an automatic 20% tip added to my check. I inquired why it was added for my party of two and was told it’s noted in the menu and has been in place since Covid began. First, I did not receive service that warranted a 20% tip and I don’t feel it’s acceptable to just add to someone’s bill without notice. There were no refills on drinks, the food was ordered and dropped off. No were on the menu did I see tip is automatically added. This will be the first and last time I spend my money at Lime Grill.
