I LOVE IT!!! Me and my beautiful family are dairy free and try to go gluten free if possible so finding this place was lovely. We were cruising around Simsbury and we love dessert so I looked up on my handy dandy phone if there were any vegan bakeries. Ohh yeah Google hit it like waves crashing in. I was so happy to have my husband cruising down the streets hunting not for animals but vegan Pure Love sweet goodness. We energetically peeled into the parking lot and I was like the explorer yelling and waving my ego finger pointing to the Magical Pure Love bakery. We pulled in and rushed in like Batman on drugs looking for our Desire of yummy dessert love. Plus they were closing soon. When I saw they had so many vegan products my heart yelled to my brain and I was like "yes!". The lady behind the counter was lovely and answered any questions and we'll I was so grateful because service is a important part of healing and helping humanity and if service sucks then you never want to go back. We Will Be Back! As some famous buffed actor would say. I told the Beautiful lady " One of everything vegan you got!" I felt like a child at Willy Wonka's living some magical adventure and the G-O-D gave me allowence through a job so I could buy what I need and damn it I needed those Pure Love baked to perfection treats. When she told me the price I was like holy molly, so cheap! Which means their prices are pumping in a good way. Everyone could afford such royalty and your Inner Child will thank you all the days of your life. My son got a lavender lemonade and I tasted it and he liked it. These are the memories, you know. Going to a bakery that's aware of health and making our little internal health Angels happy. We piled back into the car and on the drive home we opened the stash of baked food gold. I fed my husband as he drove and I said " it's good right?, So good!" My little son ate a cupcake. I then told my son like Gollum from the Lord of the Rings " give me more!" asking for more goodies tapping into the Pure Love. We will be back!! The place is worth it. The service is Worth it,, the damn Beautiful Pure Love sign is worth it. It's just worth it. I'll let my Inner Fat Man out when ever I come here.Thank you beautiful Pure...
Read moreThis place is a glutard's heaven!!!!! I have been a celiac for 4 and a half years and it has been about 5 years since I had a gluten free bagel and cream cheese (like the rest of the world can get from Dunkins) and any kind of donut. Within 5 minutes of walking into Pure Love Bakery, I had both of these things in my mouth and truly thought I had died and gone to heaven. Their bagels are filling but not dense, and taste like real bagels, if not better! Ask for it toasted and with cream cheese and you can join me in celiac heaven as well! They have every baked item you can think of and I pretty much bought one of each and could not believe how delicious and non glutard-y each one tasted! Try the apple cider donuts (you read that right!) and the pumpkin donuts.. You'll be blown away. Their cinnamon buns are just like the ones I used to have on Christmas morning but better because I can eat them without a crazy allergic reaction. Their cookie pies are literally like nothing I have ever had and their bread is the most hearty, pure tasting bread I've ever laid my taste buds on. They take custom orders in advance and when I did this, my boyfriend literally took up almost half of the order because everything tastes so good and he doesn't even have an allergy!! They also cater to vegans which I think is groovy. Nothing will beat walking in the door though and being told I can have anything and everything in their shop without risk of contamination or sickness. Those are some serious magic words to any celiac out there and is pretty much the stuff of dreams! Go on Thursday for their bagels and Wednesdays and Fridays for their cider donuts. You won't regret spending your hard earned money here and supporting these amazing women who have given me what I've been dreaming about for years. And in case I haven't convinced you to stuff your face here yet, I live two hours away from Pure Love and I've already been twice. 1000% worth...
Read moreJust called to order a Thanksgiving pie on 11/20. Their website as of this past Friday said they were taking order until 11/22. I was just told they were no longer taking orders. I even called there Friday to ask a question and also verified the cut off date was 11/22, they confirmed it was. Apparently they changed the cut off date Friday night, after I called. The woman I spoke with this morning complained about how many pies they have to make and she said they can’t make 1 more as they may not get done what orders they do have. Not to mention, she was rude when I explained the situation about calling on Friday. Terrible business practices. I’m newly gluten free and live in Avon. They just lost what could have been, a great customer.
In response to your comment: I actually did in fact ask nicely about making 1 pie, just one was all I needed. Maybe she conveniently forgot about that!!! I started the phone call quite polite (and nice) as I was about to make order. It wasn’t until after I asked nicely and was told NO, that I questioned why it said on the website as of Friday that orders can be placed until 11/22 and also spoke with a staff member Friday about the deadline (I’d be happy to show you my phone record) and she confirmed the 11/22 deadline. I don’t check websites daily for changes as I have other more important things to do with my time. Bottom line, is that your staff member was rude to me this morning and obviously overwhelmed by the work. Get your facts straight before you comment to a...
