3.5 stars. I love Asian cuisine. I guess I'm sort of a connoisseur when it comes to it lol. I had this place bookmarked for a while. Finally went for a late lunch recently. It's located in the Old Avon Village plaza. There were plenty of parking. The interior was nice; it looked like it used to be a frozen yogurt spot. The hostess/waitress was nice. Unfortunately, there is no kids menu, but we were able to get a small bowl to share our noodles with our toddlers. The food came out slowly, considering we were only 1 out of 3 tables. We ordered pork and shrimp spring rolls as an appetizer; it was very good and fresh with the peanut butter sauce. For my meal, I ordered the Pho House Special; it's $20.95 and has rice noodles, medium rare beef, brisket, and meatballs. This bowl was huge! The flavor was good but the broth was very oily. I added more hoison, chili oil, and siracha for more flavor. We didn't have any sauces and napkins, so we had to flag down the waitress a couple of times. Also, they never refilled our waters. I noticed the prices were very high compared to other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. With everything factored together, I gave them 3.5 stars total.

Pho are either classic northern or varieties of southern Vietnamese interpretation of the original pho. And Pho House broth is of the northern style and they did a great job. It is very clear, aromatic flavorful and served piping hot; exactly how a great bow of pho should be served. The flank steak are superb and the brisket is one of the best. Only one improvement; vegetables should be served on the side, allowing individual to add the amount that they like. If they did that, I think it is the best northern style pho in New England. 11/26/23 Under new management. Happy to say that the pho is still the same as before, which is a good thing. The bow was piping hot, the broth was clear and all the meat was top notch. The broth tasted so good and Happy to say they didn't use MSG. Simply put, they have the best Pho in New England. But even the best can improve. Please add a side of vegetable with all of your soup.

There are no words... but I'll try anyway. My job has me traveling constantly. No matter where I go, I always dine at some sort of Asian restaurant. I am especially partial to soups and this one has officially taken the crown. After the first bite, this went from being "just dinner" after work... to an experience. The delightful staff and quirky decor simply adds to one of the most pleasurable dining experiences I have ever had. I will be back again... tomorrow. And I intend to be back again and again everytime I am back in CT. There will not be a single trip that goes by where I don't stop in at least for one meal. Thank you Pho house!!

Wonderful service and the best Vietnamese food!!! I totally messed up a pick up order (to be clear, it was completely MY fault alone), but they were so generous and understanding about it. As a result, we got to taste quite of bit of their offerings, too, and I can legitimately say that this is one of, if not the, best Vietnamese food I've ever had. The pho is rich and delicious, the banh mi - wow, the fillings are delectable, but that baguette ... fresh, soft, and chewy brings it all together perfectly. My personal favorite was the rice noodle dish with brisket and shrimp -- both deliciously grilled and juicy on top of fresh ingredients, and even in a takeout container, you can tell it was cooked and packed with care. I would eat this every day if I could. Even the drinks - mango boba smoothie is made with REAL MANGOES, not that powdery drink stuff, and you can tell. The Vietnamese coffee is the perfect balance of dark and sweet. We're from out-of-town and live in an area where Asian food, including Vietnamese, is abundant. So, we've had our share of Vietnamese food, but thanks for Pho House in Avon, CT, I am now ruined. Won't be able to eat anywhere else. We will be back to eat here whenever we're in the area!

I would have pictures but we were too busy eating/inhaling the food....

Pho House is an OK Vietnamese restaurant in Avon. The food is decent but extremely overpriced. They're currently take out only due to Covid but the service, from ordering over the phone to pick up, was excellent. My order consisted of Shrimp Spring Roll, Grilled Beef Banh Mi, Grilled Pork Banh Mi, and Vietnamese Ice Coffee with Boba. Order was ready within the time they quoted over the phone. Spring Roll order consisted of 2 rolls with peanut sauce on the side. They tasted fine but it was all noodle and barely any shrimp. Not a good value for $7. Vietnamese Ice Coffee was fine. Too much ice but tasted good. The Banh Mi's are not traditional compared to say Kien in Hartford. They come with mayo as opposed to patè. Bread was crispy and the sandwich itself is a decent size. The veges lacked enough pickle flavoring but still tasted good. However the amount of meat included is pitiful. For $13 each, I expect more. The one theme that would describe Pho House is decent food but lousy value. Just because they are in Avon doesn't justify them being at least 25% more expensive then other Vietnamese...
