I don't go to pizza places often because I like to think I eat fairly healthy, but when I do I often make it to III Guys or the group of restaurants across Edwardsville Mountaintop and Dallas PA. The renovations that this group has done across those bars and restaurants is impressive. I've been to the Edwardsville location the most often, and the bar is awesome and literally raps around the entire room along three walls. I've also been there for trivia night which is fun if you enjoy that sort of thing. The pizza is extremely hearty and downright impressive. I really enjoy the chicken wing pizza, the meat lovers, and the enormous calzones, but they are not for the faint of heart since it's a serious meal.
They usually have a decent beer selection and I've never had an issue with the wait staff who's always been extremely friendly and willing to please. And I like the fact that the bars always have a lot of people in them, and you'll feel comfortable coming in and sitting even if you're on your own. My experience is typically been focused on the bar scene, but I've also had pizza in the restaurant side but I'm not necessarily reviewing it with that in mind. I have been there with children as well however and think it's fairly kid-friendly. I wouldn't consider this a bar with a bunch of college kids in it, and for that reason I think it's a generally decent place to go if you don't want an overly rowdy...
Read moreWe have been coming to this location for four years, but yesterday, January 25, was our last time. We entered and asked the bartender if we could sit anywhere in the bar and he nodded. We sat at a table and a server took our drink order. Someone I assume was the hostess comes up to our table and tells us that it was okay for us to sit here now, but in the future we have to check in with her so she had a count of who was sitting where. I told her that bartender told us it was okay to sit anywhere. She proceeded to chastise us to the point that we felt as if we had committed a serious misstep. Her attitude was that of a teacher reprimanding a student who had broken the rules. To further clarify, my husband and I are senior citizens, it was before 5 pm on a Thursday, and the bar was one quarter full. When she walked away we looked at each other and got up to leave. As we passed her at the exit we told her that she could have her table back and that she need to work on her social skills. She followed us out of the restaurant trying to explain why she did what she did, but by then why would we feel welcome in that establishment and enjoy dining there? I hope management reads this and retrains their staff...
Read moreLiving in the back mt I've had 3 guys a few times and it's been alright. Yesterday was a big anniversary for my boyfriend and I, and since it was during this pandemic, I thought maybe I could surprise him with a heart shaped pizza to-go from here. 3 Hours prior to picking it up I asked if it would be possible, and the girl said she didn't know but she'd have to ask the chef. When I picked it up later on excited to see if they made it, I saw that it was just a regular round pizza. It was kind of dissappointing, I didn't think it was a hard request and called in early so they had enough time. Maybe I'm being a little dramatic but as a small business that specializes in pizza I thought they'd be glad to accomodate shaping 1 pizza a little differently, especially with what's going on in the world. As a waitress of another small business in the area, I would have reallt tried to make my customers request possible, especially since it's the middle of a very difficult time in the world. Unfortunately Probably won't come again, as I see they didn't really care about entertaining my request or working with a customer who has gone here for several years. Will be...
