I ordered, via Grubhub, from The Simple Greek. One Build Your Own Pita and a side of Greek Fries. Grubhub was offering a Promo so I did save some money. The order went out at 3:50 PM and delivery was promised from 4:25 PM to 4:35 PM. Well, I have to be honest, I didn't search to see where The Simple Greek was located, in relationship to me, till after I set out the order. If I have known just how far away the restaurant had been I might have thought twice about making the order. Grubhub's delivery time seems to be really hit or miss but distance DOES seem to have some major impact on delivery times. If I had checked Google Map first to see where The Simple Greek WAS I would likely have not ordered from it. Now 15 minutes away via car sounds harmless but with Grubhub drivers that could translate into an hour or more late. Still the reviews online seemed pretty strong. What could go wrong? After all, according to the Tracker, the driver was able to pick up the food at 4:16 PM. This could work! There's no rush hour, surely? The roads must be empty! The driver decided to get onto 395 - which is not a bad choice - and swiftly approached my home address. In fact the driver delivered the order at 4:30 PM. Early! The Pita was big - I had ordered a Wheat Pita with Spicy Hummus, Grilled Chicken, Cucumbers, and a long lists of veggies with a dash of Olive Oil. And it is much larger than what I thought it would be and much larger than other pitas I have had in the area. The Greek Fries were not delivered warm but was very tasty. Really good. The whole order really filled me up and hit the spot. And the cost isn't that bad for what I got. I would give the restaurant a five...
Read moreEmpty spot. Should have walked out right away. Nothing is cooking on any broilers. All meats precooked and put in steam table that dries up meat and flavor. They have Gyro meat, white or dark chicken gyros. They give you water down sauce without flavor. And a few toppings. The tomato’s and cucumber were soggy and I removed them just to try to enjoy the meat and it was just terrible. Fatty dried up pieces of meat. Not sure how this place is going to service. I would have rather had a slice of pizza for 6 bucks than spend 12 bucks on a terrible Gyro!
No soup even though the menu has it. All pastries pre packed from vendor. This is not worth the stop for a gyro. Have to try to find another spot in...
Read moreVery tasty and fresh! I had a bowl w lentils, traditional gyro meat, salad, feta and dolmades, plus olives, tzatziki and spicy hummus. I may go half rice, half lentils next time, but it was simple and delicious. $12 w dolmades and no drink. Not bad on price. Well worth returning. Went back and had half rice, half lentils w/traditional meat this time. Double shot of Tzatziki, no spicy hummus this time. Ordered the feta fries as well. The fries are only ok, and I really missed the spicy hummus. But again, a really good meal though at $16 with the dolmades and fries, it is getting a bit pricey for everyday lunch. The dolmades are worth it, the fries not so much. Still 4 stars for a good, moderately...
