We saw the reviews and the online menus and decided this would be our next stop on our monthly restaurant journey.
My wife and I were looking forward to some good fried mushrooms and seared tuna appetizers.
Well as we arrived, we found that the place had changed, or changed hands? We were presented with an abbreviated menu and when we inquired about the online menu we were told "they don't have access to those accounts anymore and can't manage the social media". We were not told the place had only been open 2 weeks, we figured it out later.
We ordered the Firecracker Shrimp, 8-10 of them on the plate. They were good.
I ordered the ribeye, med rare with sauteed mushrooms on it. My wife ordered the fillet and a Cesar salad.
The salad arrived and you can see by the picture posted was not Cesar. It was spring mix with croutons and some Cesar dressing.
Unimpressed our main course arrived and we dug in, both of us loved the potatoes but I was not a fan of the crunchy beans.
My steak was a hard medium in the middle but was pretty tasty, my wife thought her filet was a bit dry, but that is occasionally the case with a lean cut
The format of no options for sides is a bit off putting, as we like to mix it up, but so far everything was good, for an initial visit.
As I wait for the check I notice something at a neighboring table, the expediter is serving food to a table, the waitress is asking about the food just delivered, 3 plates have been set in front of patrons, 2 actually handled by patrons, then picked up and served to a different table, like nothing ever happened.
To me, any plate that is touched by a customer, can't be re-served under any circumstance. I decided this would be my last visit.
The final surprise came when the check was delivered, every item was more expensive on my check that it was on the menu. How is unsweet tea more expensive than Coke?
I have included pictures of the menu , initially to help future diners, as well as our check for clarity.
We will not be coming back and will warn people who do to make sure everything is just so and check the check!
For the life of me, I can't believe no one has noticed and reported the discrepancy in the...
Read moreVisited this place based on the reviews since we were in the area traveling up Hwy 27 towards Dothan. Thought it would be nice to have lunch with my wife with a view of the lake, plus again, the reviews were saying the food was very good. When we got there, it was in the middle of lunch. We stood up front at the host area, took a while for anyone to acknowledge us. But they were busy so no problem. We asked for seating outside, but they said it was unavailable at that time. There were people sitting out there and tables were open, but for whatever reason both me and the couple behind us were told it was not available and we'd have to be eat inside. Very disappointing since we don't live here to come back again soon.
I ordered the classic burger. My wife got the 🐟 tacos. The burger 🍔 was good. But if you ever had a cheeseburger that sat for a while to the point where the cheese was no longer melty, instead it was room temperature. As were the fries. Things have to be really bad for me to send food back. I just don't trust that process and what happens to your food when it's out of sight in the back, so I ate it. My wife did not enjoy the taste of her tacos either.
It took about 30 minutes from the time we were seated, before our food was in front of us. That wasn't too long for me but if your hungry and impatient, hopefully your experience is faster.
Based on the numerous glowing reviews, we would try this place again, but I'd call ahead first to make sure they have their outside seating open, and I'd try something else on the menu. Oh, and the sweet...
Read moreWell, the restaurant is in a nice area with great views but my experience was bad. Once we entered there is a sign that says wait to be seated and we waited for about ten minutes, I noticed the restaurant wasn’t full and waitresses were walking back and forth but not acknowledging us wanting to dine. So I called the restaurant phone and told whoever answered we are here waiting to be seated and then someone came to seat us. The starters we ordered were great, firecracker shrimp, fried calamari and fried crab legs were all hot and tasted great. But our entree’s were horrible. I ordered the catfish with coleslaw, hush puppies, fries and added a side of Gouda grits. The catfish was hot but bland with no taste. The fries were old and cold, I didn’t get the hush puppies, I guess they forgot the meal came with them. The Gouda grits were not my taste but the seasoning in it was so strong I used the Gouda grits on top of my catfish to give it taste. My daughter ordered a plain cheeseburger with fries with ketchup on the side. The burger was cold and seemed old and the cheese wasn’t melted down on the patty. She had old cold fries also and the ketchup wasn’t added on the side. After the disappointment from the entrees we didn’t want a dessert. I paid the waitress Ronnie (young red head lady) and I told her about our disappointments and she offered to refund us some money but I just wanted to leave. She told me to just ask for her the next...
