Cali King Burger — Restaurant in Bakersfield

12/2020 I had to change this once 5 star rating to a 1 star rating. I don't know if management changed here or what, but this place is terrible now! The drive thru which is the only way to order here is insufferable. Whatever you do DON'T have a special order because they don't listen to your order and they are trying so hard to get your order through they don't listen to what you want.The last 4 orders were wrong and when I finally complained they said come back and we'll make it right. When we go there they said we needed the receipt, you know the one they never gave us. Well I just quit going there. Then 2 days ago I think man I would love a shake. We get everybody's order and man what an ordeal! One order must not have seseme seeds first thing out of my mouth! From there, what drink, don't want a drink with that, you total is, wait I'm not done, what else do you want, every burger and Zi ordered was like that. I said at 2nd burger no drinks. Anyway I asked her to read the whole thing back and I asked about the burger that absolutely cannot have seeds and she says we're all out! Lord that was it for me. Tired of wrong food, missing food, being rushed through the order when they aren't listening anyway! And being burned up for food I paid and didn't get. You lost this customer!! They keep everything pretty clean and one of the best places to go...

This was the worst fast-food I’ve had in a long time, and that’s saying a lot considering the fast-food places here in Bakersfield. I got the 4-piece fish basket for $13.49. Kinda high, but I still ordered knowing that. I also used my debit card and they charged me .49 for doing so. What I did not know was that this fish basket does NOT come with a drink. I spent a total of $15 on just the fish and fries.

Now… let me tell you about the fish and fries… you know those nasty fish sticks you got as a kid in your school cafeteria? Well these fish sticks would make those taste like Pappadeaux’s. Absolute and totally unappetizing, not one bit of taste in them. And the french fries were extraordinairly bland on a level that was actually impressive.

I appreciate their hubris that they could, with a straight face, charge $15 for food with less taste than wet cardboard. And as I write this I’m thinking that I was lucky I didn’t get a drink. I can’t even imagine what wet cardboard tastes like in a liquid form. Needless to say I will not be back. I usually give restaurants two chances, because anyone can have a bad day. But this place was so bad I’d be a fool to subject my stomach (and wallet) to that type of abuse.

At approximately 10:10 am today I decided to go to frosty king on Auburn for a quick bite to eat. I only have a 30 minute lunch and I’m already aware that they cook the food to order, so I anticipated a wait.....no problem. I have had a negative experience in the past at this particular location, but I’m one to give second chances. However, this will be the last time I will visit this location on auburn. I order two fried burritos and a side of chili with cheese and onions. I received my order and headed back to work. As I sat down, to enjoy my first bite of the burrito which I covered with chili, mouth watering....I was shocked to instantly taste something sour. To make a long story short the chili taste like there was lemon in it. I immediately called frosty king to inform them of my discovery. I guess I spoke with the manager and suggested they should taste the chili. The person on the other end of the phone rudely insisted that the chili was fine and it was made fresh this morning. I’m disappointed that I wasn’t offered an exchange or a simple I’m sorry. I’ve wasted $3.50 on some chili that has the distinct taste of lemon. I feel a little better letting out my frustrations in this review. I hope this...
