I have been going to this Supercuts now for about 4 months. In all I was there about 5 times. One of the biggest things I love about them is that they are clean, and follow all the protocals to protect their employees and their customers against Covid-19. Before I started going to them, I always thought that this place was just for younger customers and probably full of all kinds of fancy smancy stuff that was not age appropriated for a guy like me who is in his 50's. So how did I end up here then? My girlfriend and I moved to Bakersfield from NY a few months before Covid started. We didn't know much about the place and I had no idea where to find a good barber. We didn't know anybody in the city. I'm an old fashioned guy. I don't feel like spending a lot of money on my hair cut. I don't even know the lingo most people use to instruct the barbers. So, I always prefer nice, clean, simple barbarshops. Well, due to Covid, the couple of shops I visited before were closed. So I had a very difficult time finding an open place. Eventually when barbarshops started to reopen, I must have stopped by at least 8 barbershops in my area. Almost all of them gave me the feeling that they were not safe to sit around for an hour or more to get a haircut. Some were clean, but the staff wasn't wearing masks. Others too small. The space was too small for a number of people to be sitting around for extensive periods of time. I can fully understand that every small business was suffereing the every barbarshop was doing the best they could to get customers in the door. I could see their side but I also had to worry about my own health, especially after losing a couple of family members to Covid, I wasn't going to take any chances. Then one day by chance I drove by this Supercut. I had seen it before, but this time I was checking out every hair salon. When I walked in this place I knew this is what I wanted, a clean, spacious place where all the customer and staff were wearing masks. It was just what I was looking for. The next good thing that happened was that though they were out of my usual hair cut expense range, they have a wonderful plan that I joined immediately. I pay monthly membership fee which is less than the cost of one haircut if you are not a member, but you can get unlimited haircuts every month with that one fee! Amazing. I could not get a better deal. As for the customer servcie, I have honestly not seen better customer service at a hair salon than this, especially for a place that offers me unlimited haircuts for under $20 a month. Yes, these kids in there are professionals, the place is being run with high standards, and I see people of all ages. I would highly recommend this place. Another big peace of mind I have is that I never have to think which barber to go to anymore. I used to waste time on that too. Not anymore. I am so glad I found this place, and it is only about 5 mintues drive...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen i was first going to Supercuts over eight years ago, it was great. They had a great friendly staff and the hair stylist had always cut my hair exactly as to my specific request.
However beginning three years ago they had gotten new stylists. Some of which are extremely rude, snarky, and don't listen to the specific haircut request i'd give them.
The old woman that works there now that acts like a snobby teenager would always give me an attitude even when i was being the most polite to her. She'd give me the length of my hair and i'd give her a specific inch to cut around. She would cut it SHORTER than the inch i requested and try to sell it off like it was, as if i was stupid, then she would get irritated and annoyed when i politely asked for it to be shorter to the correct inch length i requested. She would also give me dirty looks for a second after i told her to go shorter. I had been nothing but kind and apologetic to this woman and she treated me with the utmost disrespectful behavior everytime she had cut my hair.
As for Joey, the big feminine Latino guy that works there, started doing a little of the same too. My hair length was 5'' on top and 4'' on the sides. I specifically told this guy to cut 1'' off the top and and 2'' off the sides. He cuts off THREE INCHES and a half off the top and two inches and a half off the sides. My hair looked noticeably shorter than i requested in the mirror but i didn't say anything because from my understanding he was a "professional." When we finished we went to the counter. While i was getting my money out to pay he laughed in an offensive manner and told me i look different. He's done this a lot of times and had the same disrespectful attitude.
Every other hair stylists were respectful though. the skinny guy in the front came off as disrespectful towards me.
Overall i strongly believe the older woman with red hair and Joey should be fired. They were by far the most disrespectful employees i have ever came across in customer service and should NOT have a job working with people.
I don't recommend anybody go here. They do a horrible job cutting your hair while overcharging $18. You're better off going to barber college where they charge less and might do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. I have been coming here for years and over time the quality of the cuts has declined as well as the stylist skills. I personally havenāt had an issue since I go to the same stylist Desiray. However I recently took my son and was helped by Sharon. My son asked for a fade and a little off the top. Sharon did not cut the right side of his hair and absolutely ruined the back of his. On top of paying over $30 to Sharon and now having to pay an additional $50 to have someone fix it elsewhere I wish I demanded my money back, requesting Sharon to fix it was out of the question. I will never come back to this company ever again. And to top it off, she said āI hope he likes itā. I wanted to scream but had to keep my composure. Itās back to school time and I canāt imagine how many kids are going back with their hair completely annihilated. She took forever with my sons hair ONLY for it to be a freaking mess. He asked for a taper fade and this is what he got, a freaking hack job! His hair line ruined!!! This cut was to be to the skin. When she said his cut was done I had NO words. No blend, no cut, nothing! School is a week away and she better hope his hair grows in to fix the bald spots she left!!!! I seriously want my money back WITH the tip I was so kind to add!!! Iām adding pictures for everyone to see what she did not do and what she did do!...
