Great service i loved my waiter and the service she provided. the atmosphere is nice too nothing smells more like breakfast then brewing coffee and eggs cooking in the morning Unfortunately, what really mattered to me Was the food and it fell short Of course, this is my opinion and everybody's taste Buds are different so your opinion of this place may vary based on the taste of the food before i start i would like to say this review is based on one dish alone and my review might change after trying this place for a second time with a different dish.i ordered a plain coffee and hot chocolate both were exactly what i ordered they were good but nothing surprising along with my order i got a steak dinner plate with vegetables,salad with Italian dressing,and mashed potatos the plate came with two half sandwich breads which were very good. i ordered my steak medium and it was a little over cooked almost medium-well but that wouldn't of matter to me if the steak tasted great i have to confess that I've been to a lot of steak houses and its unfair to compare a breakfast place to a steakhouse when it comes to comparing steaks its obvious a steakhouse should win in that category nevertheless when i got my steak it was a bit tough and it was missing that smokey flavor i know and love that comes from a dry aged steak(again i was expecting something similar to a steakhouse steak) instead i got a regular tasting steak that seemed to be colorless and missing the sear most steaks have. it almost seemed boiled with a bit of brown and light in color either way it was okay. the vegetables were just a disappointment they were just boiled vegetables with no salt or seasoning instead of complimenting the dish it kind of made it a bit worse the only thing that was fantastic was the mashed potatos and the toasted half sandwich breads they elevated the dish from a 4/10 to 6/10 it definitely helped the dish when eating the vegetables and steak all together in one bite. keep in mind this was a 22$ dish comparing to a similar dish at a steakhouse that would be around 35$-45$ it was significantly cheaper then any steak I've ever had. overall i would reconsider ordering a steak. i was not expecting a 5☆ restaurants food but rather a place with fantastic food that was my go to place. i will be back however only to try their breakfast and my review might change or i will just continue to add to this review with either improving my rating or...

Being that I am not originally from Bakersfield, Ithought I would try some of the hometown restaurants. I happened to visit this restaurant and Loved the food. First and second visit was great. However today, I called to place an order. No one answered after calling for 17 minutes. I decide to call the Brundage lane location to inquire if the locatiom on El Potero lane was still open, with no luck I decided to just go to the restaurant.

Here is why You will NEVER have my business. ANOTHER 15 minutes not even being acknowledged in your restaurant. I leave and continue across the street to Denny's. I decided to call to speak with a manager and was put on hold long enough for me to make an order at another restaurant and receive the order all while being on hold and listening to Spanish being spoken and laughing in the background...Probably because I asked for a manger. (you know, those childish games) The customer service that I received today, negates all of the positive you have displayed previously. Now you are at the bottom of the list for me. Another Hole in the wall joint that was LUCKY to exist as long as you have. Hopefully, you will FIX it, because if not you will be the next Mom and Pops business to have to close it's doors. I hate to write this review and it kills me to do it. One of my favorite place to eat in the last 7 years but it has gone down hill so fast. Today March 29 2024 I had gotten such a bad experience that I don’t think I would go back ever again. I have had bad experience there before but let it go thinking they might be just having a bad day, but it’s been happening so much that I have given up on this place. My coffee mug was dirty and when I added sugar to it something floated out of my coffee that I didn’t even drink it. My girlfriend got the breakfast skillet and asked if she can get her bell peppers and onions cooked a little long but we’re serve raw on top of the skillet. Top it off she was served raw pancakes in the middle, I understand if it’s a little raw but the whole middle was raw. I fell bad for all the parents that take their kids there and pancakes get served to them. (Please check the pancakes before you or your kids eat them). It seems like the owner and employees have stop caring completely. 10 min wait to be seated when no one’s there and when it’s a full house there is only one server but there are 3 cooks in the kitchen.
