JIN SUSHI #2 (Brimhall & Allen) — Restaurant in Bakersfield

I recently placed a takeout order for my family at this restaurant, and the experience was extremely disappointing. My mom stayed in the car with my baby and older child while I went inside to pick up the food. The order confirmation stated it would be ready in 25 minutes, so I waited in the restaurant. During my wait, I stepped away briefly to use the restroom, and when I returned, I discovered that my order had been given to someone else!

When I asked about my food, the staff insisted multiple times that it had already been picked up. I was shocked and couldn’t believe what I was hearing, as I had been waiting there the entire time. It turns out another customer walked off with my order, and the staff failed to confirm her identity or double-check the order.

To resolve their mistake, they said they would remake my order. However, after waiting another 10 minutes, they came back to ask what was in my order, revealing they hadn’t even started making it yet. I ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes on top of the initial 25 minutes, bringing my total wait time to over an hour.

Adding to the frustration, the woman who had mistakenly taken my food returned to pick up her actual order. She ended up leaving with both meals—mine and hers—without paying for the extra food. While I didn’t expect a free meal, I still had to pay full price for my order despite their error and long delays. To make matters worse, I had already tipped upon arrival, not realizing I’d experience such poor customer service.

What made this situation even more outrageous was that one of the staff members spent time on the phone with the woman who took my order, instead of prioritizing my remake. Meanwhile, my family was stuck waiting in the car, adding to the overall inconvenience and stress.

This experience was unacceptable and deeply frustrating. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and overall disregard for customer satisfaction were shocking. I left feeling completely undervalued...

This is a wonderful place for a nice date night. My wife and I and or best friends double dated lasted night and we're taken care of by Kassidy. She has amazing customer service and fantastic recommendations! She recommended a great Saki (picture below) that was both a little sweet with a hint of tang at the end. The sushi that we had was great and flavorful! We started with the Tempura veggies and they were cooked very well. The rolls we had (which were beautiful and bursting with flavor) were the Hawaiian Blue (not that spicy), the Spider (sweet tasting), the Sushi-Racha (spicier than the Hawaiian Blue but still not that spicy), the Baked Scallops (very good), the Baked Albacore (really God flavor and covered in onions with added to the flavor), and the Oh My Gosh (very good and interesting because it doesn't have rice but comes on spoons). Food - taste - Outstanding flavors. We ordered the following: 2 orders of mixed tempura (ala carte) - 2 orders Chicken Teriyaki Bento lunches which included Gyoza, salad, Teri Chicken, rice and fresh california roll sushi. 1 order of house salad and Udon chicken soup, 2 orders of cucumber salad and 1 order of Calofornia rolls.

Presentation/amount - nice presentation of food and a really good amount food! Not little taster bites. Again flavor is Amazingly good.

My roots come from Hawaii so finding great tasting food is a privilege.

So onolicious - Going to be a regular place for my 'Ohana here in the lushness of the desert.

I highly recommend you to try it out.
