Panda Express — Restaurant in Bakersfield

I came with my daughter to this location because of the close proximity to my home. We arrived at 11:20 . I ordered a plate to go chow main, orange chicken, and teriyaki chicken. Upon our arrival we were told there would be a 7 minute wait for teriyaki chicken which was fine, who doesn't like fresh food right? I notice there was a line of at least 7 people behind me all who had also order orange chicken . Now I am not the type of person to complain, so when I notice 20 minutes has passed by I just made eye contact with one of the employees. The employee quickly approached me and said that it was now going to be a 7 minute wait for the orange chicken . At this point it was 11:43 exactly 23 minutes after I placed my order, 23 minutes after they told me it would be a 7 minutes wait for teriyaki chicken. I demanded my money at this point , but of course they couldn't give it to me because they didn't have a manger on site. It was exactly 11:57 when I finally got my meal. I was extremely disappointed . This location failed their mission of respect, and they failed at delivering an exceptional Asian dining experience for me. I worked at the 5120 Stockdale hwy location before, and as a past employee I know how unacceptable this...

Great friendly staff. Everything was clean and smelt amazing. The bathrooms were one of the cleanest i have seen for public bathrooms. The staff made sure there was enough of what i wanted before serving my food, so that it would stay hot. Also, a staff member welcomed me to the restaurant while she was cleaning the tables and soda areas of the lobby. The staff also allowed me to try any of the food i wanted to, so that i could make the selection i would most satisfied with. The staff made sure to ask if it was dine in or to go. Any special things i wanted they were happy to help. For example, i got a three entree combo to split at home with my fiancee and i asked for one of the entrees to go into a seprate container. They did so with no problem. When I asked for both forks and chopsticks they willing gave me both of them with an extra set for later. I strongly recommend you experience this place yourself. I know i will return when i have the money. I was there with a male friend and he was paying so that i didnt have to cook that night. Man I was so excited to eat Panda as it had been a cool minute. There was a decent line, as usual, but that is to be expected. The older lady who was taking orders for the people in line ahead of me was kind and was giving a great amount of food for everyone. As it was almost my turn to order the servers switched as the other lady went on break or something. This younger lady seemed visibly upset for having a job and having to work. When I ordered I was given much smaller portions compared to everyone ahead of me. I even mentioned it to the lady that the prior associate was filling everyone’s plate. I even paid extra money for the honey walnut shrimp. This associate very rudely said to me, “it’s company policy to only give 7 pieces of shrimp per order.” She didn’t acknowledge that her team member was actually going out of her way to satisfy her customers.

It’s very unfair when we are paying the same amount or higher for “premium” items to get half the quantity.

Plz train your staff better Panda as you can alienate long-time customers with this kind...
