Quick Summary Solid Korean soul food spot. They put a lot of effort into the interior design and it makes you feel transported to a Korean or K-town experience. Braised beef short rib pretty similar to LA / K-town quality. Easy lot parking if you avoid the main entrance
Food- 5 stars Pretty solid braised beef short rib. The flavors were good without being too salty or greasy. The side dishes were pretty solid as well.
Service- 5 stars Pretty fast service overall. Had to wait about 15 minutes while they were cleaning tables, but overall the food and service was pretty good. The owner also came around checking tables as well
Interior- 5 stars The interior decor makes you feel transported to a Korean restaurant experience. Enjoyed seeing the traditional windows around the restaurant

Read moreI had high expectations as they pride themselves on being authentic Korean food, but their food was lacking in flavors. The katsu tasted like chicken nuggets, and the portions were small. The bibimbap was $25 and $2 extra for like 2 tablespoons of beef. They gave me 2 tablespoons of bibimbap sauce for a big plate of rice, so it wasn’t enough to flavor the plate. I asked for more sauce, and it took them 15 minutes to bring the sauce; the food had gone cold already. We also ordered jjapchae that was $15. It was okay. Nothing special. But again, for the price, the portions were small. It was very underwhelming. I wish I could have taken a picture. It was a sad portion for $15. The reviews are honestly overrated, and we found out that the reviews are high because dessert is offered if you give them a review. The interior itself is beautiful, but the food and prices were not good. Hopefully,...
Read moreMy family of four had Saturday lunch here, and everything about the experience was fantastic. We were seated immediately, which is always nice. The ambiance is cozy and creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The service was amazing—so friendly and attentive.
We started with the marinated fried dumplings, which were crispy and packed with flavor. The sides were fresh, and the beef short rib soup was so flavorful and comforting. The garlic soy chicken was a hit—large portions and perfectly seasoned. But the highlight for my kids was the mushroom japchae—they couldn’t get enough and kept asking for more!
I forgot to take pictures of the food this time, but I’ll make sure to do so on our next visit. Can’t wait to try more dishes on the menu. If you’re looking for delicious Korean cuisine in Bakersfield, I highly recommend Seoul Shikdang. We’ll...
