Countryside Market & Deli — Restaurant in Bakersfield

I called the Camachie location and received horrible customer service. All I asked was if they had any Chili Verde mac & cheese and received the response that they didn't open on Sundays. Which was not my question. Without receiving a response to my question from the lady claiming to be a subway employee, I called again obviously the same person answered the general information line and was irritated with my question. She then called another associate to assist me and rudely said, "She keeps asking the same question." They never offered to check on my request even though I mentioned, that I go often on Sundays to purchase a round tray of their Chili Verde Mac & Cheese regularly! I didn't want to drive 20 minutes for something they might not have.

With that said: I called the Coffee location and without hesitation, the associate who professionally answered the phone, Carter, politely asked me to wait so that he could double-check. He then respectfully explained the situation regarding my request per location and the making of Chili Verde Mac & Cheese, defusing a rough situation. Without knowing the situation, Carter was respectful and was not aware that the request was for someone who has a week to live due to cancer.

Thank God for associates like him who consider...

Im not sure why they decide to put brand new people alone on a Sunday morning when they are clearly very busy. I waited for 30 min, (completely ignored the whole time) just to walk out cause the service and experience was so bad. The girl working behind the counter obviously was new because she went to heat up a biscuit and nearly started a fire in the microwave. The whole kitchen was smoked out and the biscuit was completely black. No offense, but it is hard to want to eat anywhere that has a staff that is unable to simply heat up a biscuit let alone try to make a meal for me. So sad because we used to love coming here but unfortunately the service and food just keeps getting...

Food is always amazing here the customer service however is definitely lacking the girls tend to make you feel like you're putting them out when you ask for anything even though it's their job and this is what they should be doing, YOU are putting them out. It leaves you feeling very unwelcomed and wanting to take your food and leave even if you thought you were gonna sit and have breakfast. We'll definitely continue to get food here but the girls need to work on their customer...
