Only reason I am giving a one star is because I have to. The food was good, however the customer service was absolutely terrible. The waitresses were constantly rushing me and my family. We were in and out within about 20 minutes because they just handed us the check before we were even done. My wife and our two babies went out to the car and I used the restroom after we bagged up the to go containers because we barely ate any of our food when we were already being rushed to leave. After I got out of the restroom and went to grab the food from the table I noticed it was gone. I politely asked the waitress and without even checking to see if someone had put the food aside while they cleaned the table she immediately said that she didn’t know what happened to it and that they would not do anything for us. I politely left the building. I called in and spoke to another waitress who without even talking to the manager immediately told me they would not do anything for me. I asked for her to please ask the boss and the boss said that they weren’t going to do anything for us because we got up from the table (which we were rushed to get up from). We spent about $80 on the food which we barely ate any of and left a %20 tip even when they didn’t do anything to deserve a tip. Then they threw our food away, after we had asked for TO GO containers and neatly packed them up with 3 almost full bowls of ramen, because I had quickly used the restroom. Even if they thought we accidentally left the food, you would think they would be courteous enough to set it aside in case we came back for it. It was literally on the table for a couple minutes before it was thrown away. THE WAITRESSES WERE RUDE, THE MANAGER WAS RUDE and we had no time to eat piping hot ramen with two little kids to take care of. We lost $100 tonight because of this horrible restaurant. We aren’t rich, we’re struggling financially because of the economy and we thought it would be nice to eat out since we haven’t gone out in a long time. Honestly I’m not even mad, My heart hurts because of how cold and horrible the people are at tengu ramen. We will never eat there again and I hope this review reaches others before they waste their time and...

I work and study around this area, so my friend and I often visit this restaurant. The food is consistently good, the atmosphere is usually comfortable, and the main reason we come back is the affordable lunch specials. If you ever need a meal on a tight budget — at least $20; I usually pay $15 and some change — I highly recommend stopping by during their lunch hours. However, I did want to mention an odd experience we had a few months ago. During one of our school breaks, my friend and I came in and ordered ramen. My friend has some food restrictions, so she requested a few modifications, including having the noodles served on the side. Unfortunately, the order kept coming back with mistakes — either missing something or including something she had asked to be left out. Eventually, we gave up on correcting it since we felt bad, even though the mistakes weren’t on our end. The uncomfortable part came when, after my friend decided to just eat the ramen as it was, the cook unexpectedly came out from the back. He approached our table, offered to add the noodles to my friend’s bowl himself, and despite us politely declining and thanking him, he went ahead and did it anyway — even taking her utensils to mix the food without her consent. We kept saying it was fine, but he didn’t respond and simply left after finishing. It was a confusing and uncomfortable moment, and while it hasn’t stopped us from visiting entirely, it did make us feel a bit uneasy. I still recommend the restaurant for its affordability and good food, but I wanted to share this experience for...

I’d like to try it again.

First time here. We were in the shopping area and the wife said, “Hey there’s a ramen shop here.” Our business was done so it was lunch time, so I said we should check it out.

The restaurant was a nice little place. A few tables and even a bar area. Nice Asian atmosphere in there with the decor and the fountain inside.

I had the chicken ramen. Loved the broth! The chicken was okay.

Wife had the shrimp ramen. She liked it. Said the mushrooms were a bit meh.

There was only one server working. That was fine when we walked in. It was us and another couple. But by the time we left the place was packed!

A Yelp review said the food came out fast! They were right! We ordered some edamame but after the 2nd one our ramen was in front of us!

This has been my 2nd time in real ramen restaurant. I love noodles and it’s weird that I never got to ramen places. I would like to try their other offerings.

(I had to take a star off because my chicken was very okay. I ordered it on the advice of the server. Remember the broth was excellent! The chicken was okay.)

I would recommend...

Had an overall good experience here. I took my wife and we both ordered ramen and I had a warm sake. The atmosphere is beautifully decorated and I enjoyed listening to Japanese music they had playing in the restaurant. Our waitress was named Juniper they were very friendly and helpful. Now to the food. I ordered the spicy miso ramen extra spicy. The ramen broth was mostly okay flavor not the best I’ve experienced, the dish came with thin noodles which were a bit chewy for my taste and they clumped together a bit too much the other complaint I had would be that the egg in the ramen was super cold in the center and would have been more enjoyable if it had been warm. My wife had the seafood ramen and she really enjoyed the softshell crab in the ramen but she also felt like the broth and noodles could have been done better and her egg was cold as well. We also had a side order of extra charahu which was decent and kimchi which tasted delicious. I will probably try a different ramen shop next time but if I go back I will order something else to give them a second try.

I love the Ten Gu Ramen on Gosford so today I decided to try the Coffee location, walking in I was immediately greeted and was told to sit anywhere, the girl was super friendly, I ordered my usual, fried shrimp for an appetizer and spicy pork ramen for the main course, both were delivered within minutes of ordering, both were absolutely amazing. For both my total was about $25 and honestly not a bad price for the quality of food and serving size you are getting. I highly recommend both Ten Gu Ramen locations in Bakersfield!!!
