Sweet Pop Boba — Restaurant in Bakersfield

They only had one guy making and taking orders (I believe he was the owner)and I was in a hurry but I got late because he didn’t make my order after I payed and he also made me pay a dollar more for “tip” even though I didn’t pick the tip option, what kind of business takes orders but doesn’t make them? The guy kept taking orders but not making them. Also it’s not good to take tip without consent isn’t that illegal charging money without asking? And he didn’t even fill the cup the whole way! I always appreciate the people that make my food and I usually give tip because I know how important a tip is because I work at a place that let us take tips but it’s not ok to take a tip without asking! I think the guy was the owner and his wife was not working with him at the time today but still that doesn’t mean to not control the situation in a good way, he was unorganized and just putting in prices and not making the orders, it’s not ok. I loved this place and I always got boba from here but now I won’t because this left a bad impression. There was a big line and he kept taking orders without making ANYONES and everyone was crushed into the shop without their order they payed for. They are always very busy but they never hired anyone , I waited more...

The customer service was very good as the owners give out recommendations on what to order for your first time, the tea and snacks were a very delicious snack that I did come again for the pork buns. It usually doesn’t take long for you order to be made and I really recommend supporting this small business🙂.

PS if you’ve never had boba there is a difference between boba and popping boba(popping boba is gelatin-like and pops leaving a delicious juice inside the gelatin ball) and regular boba is rubbery, maple tasting , and thinker but still a satisfying addition. Ordered a Passion Fruit Tea w/tapioca boba. - got an artificially sweetened cup of brown water they claim was a "jasmine base", filled with syrup, jelly, and bits of random fruit. - No flavor of tea whatsoever, just pure fake sugar. If you have food allergies, are trying to diet or watch your sugar, AVOID THIS PLACE. Owners refused a refund despite having used a pin on a debit card, and had the audacity to try and show me the "tea" they have on the shelf behind the rigisters.
