Del Taco — Restaurant in Bakersfield

Store was clean with friendly knowledgeable employees that understood & spoke English clearly. Even though they looked swamped both inside and at the drive-up, your wait time was minimal with fresh, completely cooked, looking & tasting great food. I couldn't believe it that I got such great food & service during the lunchtime rush(12:20pm) that at dinnertime (6:45pm) after waiting for over 10 minutes at nearby hamburgerstand we decided to try our luck with them again. Well they lived up to the reputation that pleased us with the lunchtime crew with a different crew working the dinner shift, we left with our tummies full and smiles on our faces. Here's a place that the employees don't get tips usually, (we did tip them all that night)and most of them only make minimum wage, yet they kept the dining area cleaned & whipped down, bathrooms immaculate, food was fresh, hot and delicious and the whole time they pleasant to talk to and most importantly a smile on their faces. I wish that the establishment on that block that we tried on a special occasion a few months back which cost $$$$ and the service along with the cleanliness all need to take lessons from here. The Rosedale Hwy location seems to have a lot of issues. They seem to be very slow. I cannot tell you how many times we've been there and been told they cannot accept cards for payments. And many times they are out of different food items. The worst experience we had was one evening we stopped by and we were promptly told they only had macho burrito tortillas. That's it no other tortillas in the building. So we said ok. We will have a beef burrito combo with the fries and a soda and just pay extra for the extra beef and whatever ingredients because it would be in the macho tortilla...... THEY TOLD US NO! IT WOULD BE A WASTE OF A TORTILLA AND THAT THEY ONLY USE THOSE FOR THE PLATOS THEY WERE SELLING. We told them again we were willing to pay for the extra ingredients and again they said NO. So I asked.... all we can order then are nachos or fries? Or the huge Plato? They said yep! Not a single apology for the inconvenience..... nothing. In fact they acted annoyed with us for even being there. ...

was excited to see the carnitas back... but given the service is terrible (poor demeanor, forget food in your order, etc) I really have nothing good to say about it here. Called the store after I got home and found out they forgot my food (not the first time) I was left on hold while she validated my order (because I'm just trying to get free nachos right?) Not only did I now have to drive all of the way back to pick them up, I was not greeted, in fact they seemed annoyed that I was there and the lady making them ran out of sour cream and rather than getting more just put a lid on it and passed it out. I was then told "sorry" by the same woman who couldn't greet me and had the same poor, pissed off look on her face. Customer service is definitely not a strong suit here and as this isn't the first time I've ran into these attitudes and lack of care I...
