We frequently cross Bakersfield and we used to stop by The Indian Oven and we do lot of business. I even recommended to many of my friends and family who stop by there. But today they lost my trust and how cheap the service is. We ordered so much food for take out and had two Chai. We needed one extra cup but they refused to spare an extra cup. If you would have asked for money I would have gladly paid, but the way they said we don't give cups disappointed me. They lost my business for life and my friends and family. I spent so much money on this restaurant and just for a tea cup they are not willing then I understand what kind of ingredients they use and what kind of standards they maintain for customer service. I had been to Viceroy Indian Cuisine in the same area and it's much better in customer service. I would surely use "Viceroy Indian Cuisine" for my future trips and recommend the same to my friends and family.
Response: I am glad you read reviews, I said I would pay extra money for cups if required rather than service lady saying no we don’t give cups even after doing so much business. It was on Jan...
Read moreOnce again in search of something besides the mundane and monotonous. We came across this Indian restaurant on our way to White Forest nursery. Seem to be rather popular because a lot of people were waiting to get into the seating area. Turns out it's because they were short-staffed and people were ordering their meals before they were seated at the front counter. All over the restaurant they have signs that say they do not do take out, but they had a counter lined up with a dozen take out orders. After inquiring about the confusing messages they were sending, they said that they don't allow you to order takeout and then go inside and sit down inside of the facility to eat it. They do allow take out and they do allow you to take your food home if you could not finish it after sitting down and dining. I understand that the service wasn't very good because they are short staffed. But with how many people they allowed in the sit-down area I still would have expected more from our waitress and waiter. The food itself was a rather average in the food. I wouldn't say that it's the best I had but it's definitely...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at The Indian Oven, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant's ambiance was cozy and exuded a sense of comfort, reminiscent of dining at home.
As a fan of Indian cuisine, I decided to try their aloo parantha, and it surpassed all my expectations. The aroma of the freshly cooked bread filled the air, and the first bite transported me straight back to my childhood, where I would eagerly wait for my mother's homemade parantha. The aloo stuffing was perfectly spiced and flavorful, and the outer layer was crispy yet soft. It was clear that the chefs at The Indian Oven put immense care and attention into their craft.
