Paradise Catfish Kitchen — Restaurant in Ball

I see the bad reviews on here and I hate that you, as someone thinking of dining here, see negative reviews about it. As a native born resident, I have eaten at all of the catfish places in CENLA and I think very highly of Paradise.

First of all, the service has always been exemplary here. To me, that is always the most important factor when rating my experience at a restaurant. The staff greets and serves you with a smile.

Second, the food is amazing! Their never-frozen catfish is second none in my opinion. If I have fish while traveling, I always use Paradise as the standard to measure against. The fish is always crispy and piping hot. If you don't like crispy fish, maybe this is not the place for you and the deli at Super 1 may be a better option for you. (Not sarcasm actually, it can be pretty decent there too! (-:)

Third, the prices are a little high. HOWEVER, you are getting fresh, Louisiana, farm-raised catfish, that hasn't been frozen. Combined with the exemplary service, that makes it worth the price to me!

Finally, the atmosphere at Paradise is excellent! If you're looking for a down-home, fish-fry at grandma's house experience, give Paradise a shot!

Great food and fair prices, unlike Buckets Seafood , you get what you pay for. 2 peaces of fish, Hush puppy, side order and salad bar for $9.99 + drink. Great service and drink to go. Will go back here before going back to Buckets. You get a bucket of peanuts too.3 fish and 6 shrimp was $16. verses Baskets 2 small fish and 4 shrimp for a very similar price. Food at Paradise Catfish was not over cooked on the ends as was Buckets. Highly recommend Paradise Catfish!! The have been around for several years as well. It was my first trip to Paradise Catfish in a while, and I was NOT impressed at all. The food portions were not what we were used too. And also the prices seemed to have increased. The "Cole Slaw Bar" was not very fresh either. The restrooms should be cleaned more often, because I personally WOULD NOT use it. You would think with a new location opening soon, they would want to make sure the Ball location was up to par.........Oh well, someone's loss is another...
