Animal Boy — Restaurant in Baltimore

So excited to have Animal Boy in the neighborhood! As a vegetarian it's great having sandwich options that aren't only veg and aren't SUBWAY (gross) and they're great options! I have tried the SOHA and the Philly cheese steak (vegetarian). They are both are really big in size, fresh and tasty. The only complaint and the reason for lacking that fifth star is that I can't eat horseradish without it ruining my meal and I think the plant based meat is marinated in something that includes horseradish. My first visit I had the Philly CS which has it in it and is so labeled, so I tried the SOHA the second visit in hopes of avoiding the dreaded flavor but it was still there if only slightly. I hope Animal Boy sticks around and continues to grow their vegetarian options as we need more plant based options in the area for sure (hopefully with and without horseradish). Also the blondies...

This place is great! We got the Gabba Gabba-Gool and Satans Cheesesteak w/ chips. Both were excellent! They use Amoroso rolls for Philly! The GG-G hoagie was delicious and the pepper relish and mayo really added an extra layer of flavor. The Satans Cheesesteak was the best vegetarian cheesesteak I’ve ever had and is very hard to pull off and they did it!

We sat at the bar and got the Whiskey in Jar and Turbo Lover, both were great too.

Everyone is friendly, quick and attentive. This place is family friendly and last but not least if you are a fan of classic punk you are in for a treat. But not to they have a jukebox full of...

The vibe is good; the workers were polite; the music was solid. (I'm not entirely sure why there would be a Metallica poster in a punk-themed restaurant, but I don't want to be one of those girls.) Listen though, pricing two perfectly-fine-but-generally-unremarkable sandwiches, two draft beers at $50 makes this place feel less punk than punk-themed, the way Disney has restaurants that are German- or NOLA-themed. I know that costs are going up everywhere, but that's more than the best sandwich shops in Baltimore are charging for sandos that are more impressive in both size...
