I came, I saw, I conquered! I was informed about this business by an individual in a black-owned business group that I'm in on Facebook and I was dying to try it! I'm so glad that I did, it was a fantastic venture.
The location is in a very busy area, but there is a parking lot directly next to it which makes the visit also convenient! I called my order and 15 minutes ahead of time, but sadly I still had to wait 25 minutes for my food. It wasn't a difficult wait, because they had videos playing on the screen in there as well as a nice wide open and clean bar to sit at while I waited. Conversation with the young lady that was working (Ms. Cookie) was pretty good too. Everyone there was quite kind. 1-2 other workers happened to walk by while my colleagues and I sat and waited for our food.
Once our food came out, all of the oooo's and ahhhh's began! My colleague got two of their popular baked potatoes, the Miles Davis & Dizzy Stuffed. Oh my goodness they were so tasty, you know I had to taste them! I purchased a fish sandwich which was made with Whiting and was a very reasonably priced at $6 as well as a chicken box which were 4 wings & an order of fries. All perfectly seasoned & prepared!! I also ordered a strawberry lemonade. Every single food/ beverage mentioned was so unimaginably good that I cannot wait to return and wait however long it will it take for all of this yumminess! I have talked about this place so much, that my husband wants to take my children. I've also bragged to all of my friends to go as well!
Fantastic job Capital Lounge! I definitely wish this business the best of success and I can't wait to return so I can help them...
Read moreI visited this establishment on 10/04/20. The cashier was very pleasant. She had a wonderful sense of humor and conducted herself professionally. I ordered the Salmon Parmesan dinner. It falls in line with the kinds of healthy food I consume.
I was very displeased with the Salmon Parmesan dish. The salmon was dry, over cooked and tasteless. As my side dishes I had broccoli and candied yams. The broccoli was super wet and had zero seasoning. The candied yams were delicious. For the price of what I paid, I was very unhappy. The food was not tasty, well prepared and it took thirty minutes to prepare. I’m wondering what was happening for thirty minutes considering there wasn’t anything with seasonings. The broccoli taste as if it has been frozen, thrown into a pot to steam and placed as is upon the tray.
Overall, I wouldn’t say I would not return. My return wouldn’t be anytime in the near future. If someone were to ask for a good place to eat, I wouldn’t recommend Capital Lounge. I’m sure they have great food but after paying $18+ for a meal I didn’t enjoy; I wouldn’t suggest it to someone else. The service provided was excellent. The dish left much to be desired, including presentation, taste...
Read moreI ordered from here twice. The first time I ordered a fish, dinner and three sides. The macaroni and sweet potatoes were delicious. The greens were very aesthetically pleasing. However, they reeked of curry and weren’t seasoned well. The fish portion was so minuscule and it had a weird breading to it. The fish was good, but even with inflation there is no reason to give such small portions.
I ordered just the sides again, and the greens still smelled bad. It seems like they were going for Caribbean style and it’s not working too well. The tea is delicious, but very sweet. I’m going to warn anyone that has issues with sugar. Either avoid the tea all together or water it down. The pudding was not good. Very liquified, and it didn’t taste great. In fact, it tasted gritty.
Overall, I guess this place tried, but I’m getting vibes that they’re just capitalizing off of the black owned label. More profits for them=less product and higher prices for you.
Just saw the restaurant’s response. You are trying to capitalize off being black. I’ll accuse you of whatever I deem is the truth. Now I’m giving 1 star for the...
