Kimmy's Restaurant & Carry Out — Restaurant in Baltimore

I DoorDashed an order from Kimmy’s on Friday while I was getting my hair braided in Baltimore. I’ve been innsearch of some good chitlins. The last two places that I went to (one in Lexington Market) We’re horrible. Even though I personally have never liked Kimmy’s food overall, I’ve never had a problem with their chitlins.

I decided to order the chitlins with no sides because I was skeptical about the sides. Also, I feel the sides are severely overpriced. But anyway.

I also had a taste for some fried “crab sticks”. I decided to order that as well. I finished my order off with an iced tea.

When my order arrived, It was packaged in a very chaotic way. Stuff was very disorganized in the bag. Thankfully, they did include the condiments. My chitlins were cold, Which made sense because they tend to smell bad during delivery. So the only issue is, I had to wait until I got home to eat them. That was not an issue for me.

My crab sticks were horrible. The little bit of crust that they had on them was falling off in crumbles. And they taste bad. They should consider removing this item off their menu. It was that terrible! Wa Ballerina cappuccino

When I got home to eat my chitlins, I thought that the container looked small for $17. But to my surprise when I took them out, there were so many! I was very delighted. Once I seasoned them to my liking with the salt, pepper vinegar, and hot sauce that was provided, They made my night! That’s why I’m giving this a three star. But look at these crab sticks y’all! Really?!

I tend to patronize this restaurant through UberEats frequently because their breakfast options are top notch but I didn't expect their in-person customer service to be the complete opposite of the food they serve. I made a delivery order this morning, 12/29/21, and it was said to have been picked up but it never got delivered. Ok. I call Uber to report it and they give the refund for the order and suggest I call the restaurant for further instruction. So I call and whoever picks up is 1) generally nasty and 2) wholly unhelpful. I let her know the issue and what I've done thus far and as I was about to ask how to proceed, she completely blows me off say call Uber. Obviously I already have. I basically can't get a word in because every time I speak it's "Call Uber. I called to ask an honest question and would have left it alone if I got a sincere answer saying there was nothing that could have been done, but all I get met with is combativeness and an unwillingness to listen or to solve my problem. It's really a shame because I love this restaurant and want to support small businesses and family restaurants like Kimmy's during these times and will continue to eat here. But above all I wanted to leave this review so others can be forewarned if they have the same issues or need help...

They are very sneaky. When i order my catfish platter i get my own sides because they can be a little stingy with them. When i went to the register to pay for my food instead of charging me for a meal they charged me by the pound for my sides and seperately for the cstfish. The catfish meal is $11.99 and they tried to charge me almost $20.00 for my meal. When I called her out on it she gave me the difference back. I guess she didnt think I would notice it. She said that apparently they don't want you getting your own sides when you order a platter. I guess they want to monitor if people pack their sides in the container. When I came back to pick my food up and got home i opened it and realized they took out some of my sides out and didnt even bother to say anything. I wasnt even ridiculous with the sides. I filled it up enough so it can fit the side compartment and it was a reasonable amount. I will just stick to Corner Carryout on Liberty Rd in Millford Mill. Even though you cant self serve your own sides they give you a more than generous amount, the catfish is bigger and you are paying...
