There are few culinary experiences that manage to transcend mere sustenance and become, for a fleeting moment, something almost sacred. The pierogies at Pizza Harbor are precisely such an experience-a quiet, unassuming reminder that the simplest things in life can be imbued with the deepest meaning.
These pierogies are not just dumplings; they are vessels of memory, of tradition, of something ancient and enduring. Each one, golden and crisped to perfection on the outside, harbors a filling that is as tender as a whisper, as comforting as the soft murmur of a lullaby. Whether the filling is a creamy blend of potatoes and cheese, or a delicate mix of savory onions, the balance of textures is nothing short of divine-like a perfect harmony of light and shadow. The contrast between the crispy edges and the soft, velvety center carries the kind of depth usually reserved for the most profound experiences.
One bite and you are transported-not just to a place, but to a time. A time when life moved more slowly, when meals were prepared with care, when every detail mattered. The flavors-rich and simple-speak to a kind of quiet luxury, a luxury found not in extravagance but in the pure joy of something made well. It's the kind of indulgence that requires no fanfare, no flourish, but leaves a mark nonetheless.
In the end, these pierogies are a revelation. They don't simply satisfy hunger-they offer something more. They offer a taste of the past, a connection to something greater, a reminder that true comfort lies not in complexity, but in the unadorned, honest pleasures that life sometimes offers.
Five stars. A rare treasure, wrapped in dough and filled...

As others have mentioned, the Harbor Fries are hard to pass up every time I go. The Ukrainian dishes are excellent. My favourite is probably the sausage as it comes with great pickles and some of the Harbor Fries. The pizza is outstanding too. They use a unique dough (I think its gluten free) which is on the dense side, but in a way I like. I'm the type that sometimes skips the crust, but I never do here.
Staff is great, particularly Nick (sp?) behind the bar. Highly recommend sampling their Ukrainian beers. Theres an unfiltered dark and light lager that are my favourites. They offer frosted mugs, which I think works well with the lagers. The beers are good enough that they're great in regular mugs too, if you want the...
