Im not big on leaving reviews but appreciate a great sub and was inspired in this case.. I was disappointed garden eatery was going away as it was a great spot for breakfast/lunch in a quaint traditional diner setting (will especially miss excellent breakfast burrito) but was very happy they kept the setting in place for the new sub shop.. it’s the only spot in the neighborhood that feels like decades past, very genuine feel.. new spot has great food. The cheesesteak is maybe the best in the neighborhood. Magerks has a great traditional Philly style cheesesteak, this is more home style.. The white sub roll was soft and fresh, thin onion possibly caramelized or nicely cooked on flat top, melted white American, and I believe baby portobello mushies (primo). It’s a really great cheesesteak. The hot Italian was also excellent. Do this on the sesame seed roll that has a little crunch to it, again fresh bread, plus cold cuts, finely chopped lettuce, Mandoline thin sliced onion, nice sharp provolone, tied together with oil/vinegar and some really nice cherry peppers that give it a little kick. The half is sufficient for one or split the whole with a partner and both leave full. It’s right there with pizza Joey at cross street for top Italian sub in south baltimore.. again.. I’m not big on leaving reviews and I’m kind of a snob about subs having spent a decade as a line cook in many a bar through my younger years.. This spot has it. Great job out of the gate, I’ll...

The couple who own and operate it are the kindest most genuine people you’ve ever met, and that’s saying a lot cuz you’ve met Nelson Mandela. They care deeply about their customers and their food, and they treat both accordingly.
The cheesesteak is perfection. The seeded roll, fresh and sturdy. The meat, tender and well seasoned. The cheese, real and sharp. And the hot cherry peppers are the perfect acidic balance to the unctuous meat and cheese.
The cold Italian sub is LOADED with fresh meat and cheese. The ratios are perfect, and the LTMOV (lettuce tomato mayo oil vinegar) is thinly sliced, perfectly proportioned, and makes this sandwich the perfect combo of a classic Italian hoagie and a sort of grinder.
The fries are excellently crisp. The tots are as well, AND they’re shaped like letters. So fun.
Now let’s get to the breakfast sammies. Those eggs are so tender and silky and buttery. Idk what sorcery they’re performing on the grill, but it’s working. The bacon is fresh and crisp, and the bread is perfectly buttery and toasted.
I will be going here constantly. Join in, or you’re...
Read moreJust left Subplicity in Baltimore and wow — this spot seriously delivers! I had the cheesesteak, and it was incredibly fresh on their sesame bun — you can taste the quality right away. The meat was tender, perfectly cooked, and loaded up just right. You can tell they slice everything right there because it doesn’t have that “prepped hours ago” feel — it’s legit fresh.
The staff was super friendly too. They greet every customer who walks in and actually take the time to check in while you’re waiting. The owner’s really nice and clearly takes pride in the place — it gives off that old-school, local diner vibe where everyone feels welcome.
I also tried the Italian sub, and they heat it up on the grill — absolute perfection. The bread had that ideal balance of soft inside and a little crunch on the outside, and the flavor combo was unreal.
Everything just feels made with care here — from the portions to how neatly everything’s put together. Definitely worth the stop if you’re anywhere near Baltimore. You can tell they love what they do, and it shows...
