The pictures of the new Roost Apartments, located in the developing Baltimore Peninsula area, are representive. There is a little green area at the end of the street where people were playing kick. It was lovely area and space with a concerning parking situation. Again new development area that will change as it is builds out as many reclaimed urban areas. This doesn't feel like regenerfication. Great staff, including front desk manager, sought to work out concerns with positive efforts, though not always fruitful. My stay was in a studio located at the end of a long hallway taking 73 steps from the elevator. I had requested a water view which was at the other end of the building. I drew an unfounded conclusion that construction but studios in this location of the building. The apartment was airy with windows that looked out onto the street beyond a three seater sofa on beautiful wood floors. Comfy bed with down pillows/comforter. Kitchen had full-size stove, dishwasher, & frig, convection type microwave, small table with two chairs, well equipped for cooking and eating. Bonus nutrabullet, coffee grinder, & real coffee maker. Plants make a nice touch. Bathroom is spacious, shower could easily fit two people, soft towels, with a stackable washer-dryer combo closet. Concerns. 1) Street parking is not accessible if you need this. A parking deck is offered about three blocks away, which I elected not to use due to mobility accessibile needs. Street parking requires attention to 4-hr maximum purchase ($9 per 4-hr/$54 for day) via app if available. When this area is fully developed, the full day street parking opportunities will be less available. 2) Didn't get to the pool due to some weather event resulting in closure. Disappointed. I would stay again as a solo traveler it felt safe with security in the area, well lit streets, and secure entry after 10p. It does require car and resources if parking. Good grocery store is short drive. I would not stay if my mobility issues required greater needs. No accessible parking that felt acceptable. No van parking, street or otherwise. The apartment did have some sort of door bell, though I didn't use it. It would be difficult to comfortably move around in a small wheelchair in the studio. This aside, great staff, beautiful space, positive vibes. Perfect to kick...
Read moreThe Roost Hotel in Baltimore has an absolutely amazing concept. The design, layout, and overall vibe offer a modern, elevated hotel experience that feels more like an upscale apartment stay. I was genuinely excited to stay here because it seemed like the perfect blend of comfort and sophistication.
However, while the idea behind the hotel is fantastic, the execution—especially when it comes to cleanliness and customer service—needs some serious attention.
Starting with the room: the loveseat was visibly dingy and had noticeable stains, which immediately gave the space a less-than-fresh feel. More concerning was the mechanical closet, which had a foul odor—almost like something had died inside. That smell made it hard to relax, and I was surprised housekeeping hadn’t addressed it before check-in. The balcony, which could’ve been a peaceful bonus space, was littered with dead bugs and ashes. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a while, which was disappointing for such a visually appealing property.
The front desk experience was also off-putting. Upon arrival, the agent ran my card before I had even been shown the form outlining the additional charges—something that felt backwards and abrupt. When I questioned the process, he simply stated it was hotel policy, but the interaction lacked the courtesy and professionalism you’d expect from a high-end hospitality brand.
In summary, The Roost has so much potential. The design is stylish, and the concept is fresh, but the cleaning protocols and guest service standards need improvement. A bit more attention to detail would easily take this property from mediocre to exceptional. I’d consider staying again if those issues were addressed—but for now, it was more of a mixed experience than I...
Read moreMy family and I stayed around a month in a 2-bedroom apartment. It was a wonderful stay and we wouldn’t have it any other way. It was well-equipped with everything you might need during a stay. It combined a hotel and long-stay apartment features all in one.
Shout out to the manager Pooshan! He was of great help and was always there for any concerns. All front desk employees were super nice and friendly (unfortunately I don’t know their names)
We especially loved the outdoor views and the spacious balcony with a table to chill in. The kitchen is spacious with a large refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, and a dishwasher. It has everything you would need to cook and eat a full meal. Hand soap and dish soap were provided as well.
The apartment has spacious bathrooms, with 2 sinks in the master bathroom. It’s enough for accessible movement with a wheelchair/walker. The space around the toilet is enough to put a commode. The only thing we did not enjoy about it are the weak stream showers without hose extension.
The area felt very safe with great security; key cards are required to access the elevator, and the front doors (after 10 pm). Although we had some issues with the keycards not working properly, but we were provided with a substitute that worked well for the rest of the stay.
Another downside is that there are no grocery stores/restaurants within a walking distance. But this should change in the future as they’re still in the construction period.
We were provided free wifi throughout the stay, but it had weak coverage around the apartment and was a bit slow.
Extra things we liked: Very comfy beds The walk-in closets are just amazing! Large TV screens in every room Washing...
