Ok, I am not a picky eater what so ever! I've been a fan of the Great Wall Chinese place on Euclid and have never had an issue until tonight. I walked in to order a " to go" from the Buffett. Again, never have had an issue. I've always been satisfied. I paid and went to Buffett to fill my to go container only to see that the Buffett was very bare and and some items looked like they had been sitting there for awhile. The place had maybe 2 customers inside. They were vacuuming the floors and cleaning a bit which led me to believe they were closing within the next half hour or so, so I didn't say anything, until I heard another customer mention the same thing, yet she mentioned they don't close for another 2 hours so then I opened my mouth and said something about it to the woman at the register. Before I knew it, there were about 4 or 5 employees around ALL speaking to each other in Chinese. And we're not at all friendly or even offer to make fresh or ANYTHING. They didn't even offer to give my cash back or give lunch price. I then get home with what I had already gotten, took a couple of bites and ... Yuck!! ( and I'm by no means am a picky eater) I called to see if or what they could do for me and all I got was attitude and of course them speaking in Chinese amongst themselves. After explaining to one person, I then had to explain to yet another and was not permitted to speak with a manager and/or owner. All this just for them to blow me off and say there's nothing they can do!!! I wouldn't be so upset about it if they would have been professional/respectful about it but they were very unprofessional and NOT AT ALL customer...

We all wanted Chinese BAD this used to be our favorite place before Covid but we Got here at 5:00 p.m. food was all dried out and stale due to not enough business still charged me $8 because I grabbed half a plate before I realized just how bad it was tonight... I didn't even attempt to eat any of it, I just let manager know that it was so bad I had to leave tonight because there's nobody in here tonight... The manager did not even attempt to eat any of it to prove me wrong... Just kept saying it only 1 hour old... Just a very depressing night at this establishment...
So PLEASE everyone make sure you check the WHOLE buffet before you grab half a plate...
This wasn't Great Walls fault that not enough people were there tonight but she should not have blamed us for the situation we simply asked to pay a half restitution fee for attempting to eat there since 1 person of the group attempted to grab a plate but we decided not to eat their leftovers and go to a non Buffett for the night... It just was not "The GREAT Wall" it was "The OLD...
Read moreI went here for takeout on my lunch break. As I was walking around deciding what I wanted I saw the sushi and put some in my container. as I was doing this an employee came over practically putting her nose in my container and walked away. I turned a little then I saw the sign that read SUSHI FOR DINE IN ONLY. I looked over apologetically to the employee and she snubbed me. I finished getting my food walked to the counter and explained that I missed the tiny sign that sushi is for dine in only and offered to pay the difference from takeout to dine in as I go there often on my lunches. They insisted to see what I had in my container that they gave me when I first walked in and said JUST DONT DO IT AGAIN. They were very rude. I understand that there was a sign but for one I am 5"1 and the sign was above my head. And two I offered to pay the difference. Today they lost a customer because for now on I will go downtown for Chinese and to Fusion...
